Character Biography:
Mia came to Colonia along with her adoptive father, Nash Auria, and her friends, invited along as special guests during the first migration of people over to the new world. She enrolled in CIU but it wasn't long until her birth father, Joe Ausa, suggested she be picked as the first person to be reborn as an Anomaly. Believing he was gifting his daughter and protecting her with this great new power, he soon found that he made a mistake. The process was designed to allow Mia to harness two of the elements: Plasma and Mental, and her body couldn't handle the immense power running through it. Her Affinity Soul, a mischievous demon named Demonica took advantage of this and tore away at Mia's sanity. Demonica caused her to rampage through Colonia until she was eventually stopped by other Anomalies-in-training.
Years passed and Mia managed to not lose control like before. She was kept in check by Hayley, who was now her roommate, and her fiancée Michael McKenzie, a rising TV drama star. When Mia made the decision to tell Michael about being an Anomaly, he freaked out and called off their engagement. As revenge, she began to stalk him and used her powers to make it seem as if he'd become an Anomaly in order to ruin his reputation. She also decided, as an Observer, to test Leena Booker in battle against him once he was truly reborn as an Anomaly. He died shortly after as the result of an accident, which Mia didn't plan for, but also didn't regret. Afterward she took Leena under her wing and taught her much about the world of Anomalies. When Hayley was murdered, Mia became extremely upset. She detested that Leena was arrested for the murder and Hayley's diary on to Leena's lawyer as evidence that helped clear her name. When Mia next appeared, it was to combat the giant Affinity Soul Stromboli that materialized in Marble Town. She managed to beat down the monster with her own power, barely even exhausting herself in the process. She fled the scene the second her friends Alex Burrel and Brick showed up, showing that she was more unstable than ever.
Eventually, without Hayley around to quell her, Mia's Affinity Soul took over her mind just as it had five years prior and incited a rampage once again. It forced Mia to sever any link she had to her life before she was an Anomaly, so it could fully take over her mind. Mia began to hunt down all of her prior friends in an attempt to murder them. She broke into an Eclipse base trying to get to Gabby Moreno, and driven back by Seth before deciding to go for the others at APS. Brick showed up to stop her from killing Alex, Tom Redfield, and Serph Slade, but he was only able to hold her off for so long before she overwhelmed him. After wounding Brick and knocking him out of commission, Nash showed up with Leena at his side. When Leena was reborn as an Anomaly, her powers were crafted in a way that would make her immune to many of Mia's abilities: a counter-measure in case Mia lost control again. Mia initially refused to fight, as it contradicted her roles as an Observer to protect Leena, but eventually went even more berserk.
Leena was indeed able to withstand Mia's intense electrical and telekinetic attacks, but she lacked the ferocity Mia had and eventually beaten down. Right as Mia was about to deal the finishing blow, Nash jumped in the way. He told Mia with his dying breaths that he couldn't stand to see her this way and wouldn't let Leena die since he was responsible for bringing her here. Mia then went completely berserk, blaming Leena for her father's death. She tore through the APS reinforcements that showed up, about to claim total victory, but Leena's Dual Affinity awakened and Mia's rampage was halted as the force of gravity came crashing down upon her.
Mia was locked in The Deep afterward, something she'd requested for a long time but Alex refused to do out of respect. Within the walls there, neither her Affinities or Affinity Soul could affect her mind and she was able to express herself again. Alex then brought Joe Ausa, her real father, to her and the two began to reconcile and talk.
Powers and Abilities:
When Mia was granted her powers, Anomaly growth rates hadn't been established yet so she was at near-max power almost immediately. She commands a wide variety of abilities. She can conduct electricity in an immense radius and even cause the weather to change in order to summon down lightning from the sky. Using her Mental Affinity she can read minds, communicate telepathically, use powerful telekinesis, and even take flight. One of her cruelest techniques is to levitate her foe and electrocute them while they're helpless. Her Affinity Arms are forearm-mounted blades, which she is most deadly with when flying around and taking wide swings at foes.
Her Affinity Soul: Demonica, never fully materialized during her battle with Leena and the others. It instead took over Mia's mind. The Affinity Soul showed one of its abilities though: the power to summon ridged spines from that ground that are highly tensile and can even pierce bone. Mia is extremely powerful with Demonica materialized, as it coats her body like armor and accelerates her natural abilities.

Trivia/Notes:
- Mia was the main character of my previous fan fiction, Heroes Eternity (2005), and she was much more expressive and followed a strong sense of justice in that story. The version of Mia that appears in Anomaly is a darker, more misguided version of herself, though her flashback appearances indicate she used to be like her Heroes Eternity persona. The main thought process behind including Mia was to have her train Leena, basically passing the torch onto her as the new main character. Mia was written out in volume 7 since she was simply too powerful for the other characters to keep up with, and she will be re-integrated into the story in Anomaly War.
- Mia's Affinity Soul: Demonica, is actually a reference to her Digimon form in Heroes Eternity. Her bio-merged form, DarkNitemon, was actually a reincarnation of the main villainess from Lee's era. It would take over her mind and turn her into a remorseless killing machine, which is also reflected here. The spine attacks that come from the ground are also reflective of her former powers.
- Mia is my favorite character and has been ever since I started Heroes Eternity in 2005. I'm excited to write the flashback arc in Anomaly War (it will be a full volume) where I'll have a chance to write the true Mia once again. I also want to write a scenario where the three major heroines of my stories (Amara, Mia, and Leena) team up.

Character Biography:
Michael McKenzie moved to Colonia to seek an acting career while taking classes at CIU. Known for bring a charmer, he met Mia Auria during his first semester there and they quickly fell for one another. Mia, who had just undergone the life-changing experience of becoming an unstable Anomaly, had distanced herself from her usual group of friends and decided it was best to date an outsider like him. Her best friend, Hayley Viola, didn't exactly like Michael, but he seemed to bring some stability back into Mia's life so she stood by and watched. Right after they'd announced their engagement, Michael landed a starring role on Tempest Beach, a locally filmed TV drama. He began to value his image above all else and his ego grew out of control. When Mia finally felt close enough to him to admit to him her biggest secret, that she was an Anomaly, he thought that her being a freak would ruin him and he called off the engagement.
A few years later, a vengeful and unstable Mia decided to exact her revenge. She began to use her Plasma Affinity to make it appear as if Michael was developing powers of his own, leading to his capture by APS. She then helped him break free, all the while making it seem as if he was doing this himself. Frightened and confused, Michael escaped to a dockside storage warehouse where he was confronted by Leena Booker, who Mia had guided there. Mia then had the Lord of Plasma select Michael as his next Anomaly, intending for the confrontation to be both a learning experience for Leena and revenge on Michael. Michael attacked Leena in a berserk state, blaming her for what happened to him. With no experience on how to use his powers he was easily dispatched by Leena and Sophie Briante, who knocked him into the water. When Hayley and her fellow officer Ray Cameron arrived and tried to arrest him, he foolishly tried to use his electricity powers in the water and accidentally electrocuted himself to death.
Powers and Abilities:
Since he died so shortly after initially receiving his powers, Michael didn't boast any impressive talents. Like any Plasma Anomaly, he could create and manipulate electricity. He could use his Affinity Arm, which was a lengthy conductor, to channel and blast out powerful electrical blasts. Though he killed himself via electrocution, a more skilled Plasma Anomaly would have been able to numb the effects. (An example of this is in Gabby and Vy's fight in Chapter 48, where Gabby knocking Vy into the water and electrocuting her simply resulted in knocking her unconscious.)
First Appearance: Chapter 3
Death: Chapter 6
Appears in chapters: 3, 4, 5, 6
Original Concept By: Me
Trivia/Notes:
- Michael was meant to be the introductory enemy for Leena and Sophie to fight, a rookie Anomaly with little experience just like them. When I planned Anomaly as a more episodic series, originally I planned for Michael to be taken to The Deep and break out periodically only to be humiliated and defeated again. When I began to take Anomaly more seriously in the planning process, I changed my mind and killed him off. In retrospect, he would've made a good Eclipse Number, but oh well.
- The arc with Michael actually turned out to be a much darker start to the story than I originally intended. If I could go back I would change much of the first few volumes… but they were what they were and I'm pleased with what the series grew into. I feel like the arc with Michael made an impact on Leena and the world of Anomaly, setting the tone immediately for just how difficult things were for those with powers.

Character Biography:
Miles Senate came to Colonia from America two years ago, becoming a student at CIU and very popular with most of his classmates. He was friends with the shy Roy Davenport before becoming an Anomaly and immediately confessed to Roy after becoming one, and was recruited into APS. Miles came into Leena Booker's life after Justine Burrel introduced them, but her then-boyfriend Axel Moskau drove him away. Like many, he was captivated by Leena's charm and innocence, and felt obligated to protect her. He was the one who cheered Leena up after Axel broke up with her, swearing to protect her if he ever sought to harm her. That time came in the very same day when Axel's crazed dark persona assaulted Leena at the fateful construction site. Axel managed to knock away all the other APS members with ease, only Miles was able to withstand him. Miles used all of his abilities and would have been the victor of their bout, had Axel not possessed the incredible power resulting when Light and Darkness are mixed. Miles's razor-edged shuriken was repelled back at him, seemingly killing him.
It was later revealed that Axel did not kill Miles, it was actually Collin. After Collin had beaten Axel back that night, he stepped over Miles' still-alive body and electrocuted him to death. His goal was to take over as Roy's best friend in order to hide and blend in at APS better. Roy swore to avenge Miles and the others that Collin killed by confronting him during the final battle at Scofield Tower.
Powers and Abilities:
Miles had the Affinity of Mental, though he never gained any of the telepathic traits that came with it. His powers manifested in the form of wind, which he would control telekinetically. He could create small cyclones by spinning his shuriken around at high speeds, and his ultimate technique involved wrapping his shuriken in a razor-sharp wind vortex to increase its power and range. He could also fly for short periods of time by spinning his shuriken around and leaping into the air, though he would only hover for a brief moment before slowly descending.
First Appearance: Chapter 21
Death: Chapter 28
Appears in chapters: 21, 22, 25, 27, 28, 93
Original Concept By: Me
Trivia/Notes:
- Miles was unfortunately created to be an example of just how strong Axel's abilities were while Axel was the antagonist. I kept increasing his role more and more before killing him off, which made it all the more difficult to do so. More of his origin story was to be explored in a Roy bonus chapter, but I ended up losing all my work on it while partway through writing it. He still managed to make a reappearance in Roy's flashback during the final volume, revealing the source of the scar on his face. I planned to make Miles the main character in a new story I was going to write, but that's been put on hold. (For now.)
Nash
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Hazel
Date of Birth: June 2
Nationality: American
Known Relatives: Mia (adopted daughter), Alex (adopted son), Justine (adopted daughter)
Occupation: Chief of Police
Character Biography:
Nash Auria was raised to be a respectable man by strict parents, and it shined through in his personality. Having attended the same private school as Colonia's future Emperor Scott Slade, he became friends with him despite their conflicting personalities. Joe Ausa also attended this school and a girl named Carol Savenoff, the Emperor's personal aide, rounded out their group. It is thanks to his connection with Scott that he was able to become police chief in Colonia and live his dream of administering justice throughout the land. Nash also raised three adopted children, Mia Auria, Alex Burrel, and Justine Burrel. Nash's literally boundless kindness was displayed as he welcomed all three into his home and raised them by himself. Mia's real father, Joe, was too busy with the work given to him by Slade to take care of her. All three grew up to be respectful adults, and Alex follows Nash's ideals to the point of worshipping him.
However, there came a time when Mia's real father came back into her life. Nash urged Joe to tell her before he submitted Mia to the Anomaly Project, but Joe was afraid of what Mia would think of him. Joe chose Mia, believing he could give her a great gift as a way of making up for all the years of neglect. When Mia finally did learn the truth about her origins, she became incredibly distant and pushed everyone, including Nash, away. Nash trusted in Mia's best friend Hayley Viola to look after her and continued to guide Mia whenever she did come to him. Nash was aware of the Anomaly secret and has aided Alex on a few of his missions with APS. He also commanded Hayley and Ray Cameron after they joined the police force, and they both respected him a great deal. When Hayley was murdered, Nash refused to accept Leena Booker as the murderer and took her side. By helping her attorney out and granting him access to the crime scene, he was a key factor in getting her declared innocent.
When Mia lost control and began to hunt down her former friends, Nash took it upon himself to fetch the Omega Anomaly: Leena, and instruct her of her true purpose. He bet everything on Leena being able to restrain and defeat Mia, as well as destroy the Affinity Soul that poisoned her mind. Leena was indeed a match for Mia, but she lacked the ferocity possessed by Mia and was defeated. Nash stopped Mia from killing Leena by taking the fatal blow, begging Mia to come to her senses. Alex and Mia were both devastated by Nash's death, and Alex became a much more serious leader of APS afterward. Mia also gave in to Nash's wishes and started conversing with her real father more.
First Appearance: Chapter 7

Original Concept By: Me
Trivia/Notes:
- Nash was a major character in my previous story: Heroes Eternity. In this reality, he was Mia's biological father and Joe was her adoptive father, though Joe died in the very first chapter. Nash, who was actually Ace's pupil, would watch over her in secret. He was a warrior of justice, frequently going over-the-top in his proclamations about it, and Alex would mimic him. He died near the end of the story protecting Mia and Alex from a possessed Lee, and walked off into the light with his already-deceased friends Scott, Carol, and Joe.
- Nash's whole group appears in Anomaly. In Heroes Eternity, they were his group of friends that starred alongside him in the flashback arc. All of them were in love with Carol, which created a lot tension and led Scott to hate Nash. All four of them are tragic and misguided characters who have made many wrong decisions in life. In Anomaly, Joe is the chief of police and Mia's father, Scott is the Emperor of Colonia and Serph's father, and Carol is Scott's personal assistant. Scott will be showing up in a bigger role in Anomaly War (he only had one cameo in Anomaly) and Carol will be at his side.
- I included Nash in Anomaly on a whim since he was so popular, and killed him off later since I could make a meaningful resolution for Mia out of it. It hurts killing off a character that I personally love and is actually such a great guy to everyone around him, but that's what has to be done to make an emotional story sometimes.

Character Biography:
Oliver Trent is an Anomaly who hails from Europe and was brought up in a proper and distinguished manner back home. After coming to Colonia and becoming an Anomaly, he decided to exploit his newfound power and joined the Anomaly Net, an underground group that employs Anomaly mercenaries for money. He was hired along with Kimberly Ford by Ulric Garinator to act as his underlings in various heist-related crimes across the city. Oliver and Kim were to keep Justi-Girl and her companions from getting in Ulric's way, but he was defeated by Alexis Lynn-Carlyle, who had some assistance from Vy Nguyen. The injured Oliver and Kim attempted to escape with Ulric through an underground passage but were confronted by Seth, Eclipse I. He used his powers of intimidation to make Oliver and Kim quickly fold before him and forced them to join Eclipse as the two newest members.
As Eclipse XIII, Oliver took part in a mission alongside Kim and Gabby Moreno to capture the East APS Anomalies for Eclipse's plot. Oliver was barely able to hold off Terrance and Theresa Tennant's combination attacks with his own Light shields, eventually being bailed out by Gaff Gafgarion. Oliver and Kim were on guard duty in Hypertech Tower when Ash Harvelle rushed in, trying to fight his way to the top. Oliver and Ash faced off, but Ash skillfully defeated him and convinced him that he was wasting his time as part of Eclipse. When Ash's life was then threatened by Liz Lowell, Oliver turned on her and assisted Ash. Ash escaped ahead and a furious Liz was about to kill Oliver and Kim, but the Observer Yoshino Baker intervened and saved them. She let Oliver escape so he could get medical attention for Kim, and they wondered what their next move should be.
The duo eventually ran out of money and returned to the Anomaly Net headquarters looking for work. They met Tristan Gallagher and Serena Slade there, the latter deciding to hire the three of them to help out with her plot to destroy her father's city. Oliver battled APS member Allen Smith at the site of the pillar Serena ordered him to detonate, and was the only one to successfully accomplish his mission. Oliver then escaped alongside Serena where she then used him as a pawn to help get revenge on Sophie Briante by kidnapping her little brother. Once Oliver realized just how insane Serena was, he teleported Leena Booker and Alexis to her location, which allowed Alexis to save Sophie from his insane benefactor. He then surrendered to APS out of remorse and is now being held in The Deep.
Powers and Abilities:
Oliver has the Light Affinity, allowing him to manipulate the very light in the world around him. His unique power is the ability to transfer himself to another location in sight as long as it's bright enough, effectively teleporting. He can manipulate light into solid matter to make shields or projectiles as well. His uses his Affinity Arm, his halberd, to bring down crushing blows. It doesn't suit his assassination style however, as it must be swung wide as opposed to a small weapon like Kim's sais.
First Appearance: Chapter 56
Appears in chapters: 56, 57, 59, 60, 67, 71, 72, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81
Original Concept By: Me
Trivia/Notes:
- Oliver, like Kim, was also created simply to be Ulric's minion and then had his role expanded. He seemed to be the most popular out of the mercenaries so he stuck around a bit longer than Kim and Tristan did. He deeply regrets taking part in Serena's plan and has reformed his ways in The Deep.
- Though Alexis also spoke with an English accent, Oliver was the stereotypical British character. It was only fitting to have the two of them battle. Eric and Cy also helped me with creating him, pitching me his name and weapon.
Quinton
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Date of Birth: June 19th
Nationality: American
Known Relatives: None
Occupation: APS Member
Character Biography:
Quinton in the same military platoon as Alex Burrel during their army days, which led to Alex recommending him to Colonel Jade Curtiss for a position in APS. He is rarely seen without his best friend and foil Sergeant, and the two are often getting into physical fights with one another (that Quinton always loses). Quinton is almost always on the scene with APS and tends to shoot first and ask questions later, which nearly cost Allen Smith his life once when Quinton accidentally shot him mid-fight with an anti-Anomaly pistol. Quinton had a huge crush on Hayley Viola and helped her break into Jade's office in order to satiate her thirst for information on Anomalies. When Hayley was murdered, Quinton couldn't accept it and helped find clues that would lead to the killer's arrest even though APS was ordered not to get involved.
Quinton has gotten in on the action on a few occasions, most notably when he de-powered and punched Seth out a window high up in Hypertech Tower. Nathan Knight attempted to manipulate Quinton and force him to turn on Axel, but Quinton's will proved to be too strong and he attacked Nathan instead. Quinton seemed to be one of the most shocked when Collin Halley betrayed the group, devastated that he lost his darts buddy… among other things. Quinton was absent during the final battle since he and Sergeant had to transport some captured Eclipse Numbers to The Deep; a precaution taken to prevent them from being rescued and used to turn the tide during the decisive confrontation.

Trivia/Notes:
- Quinton, like so many other characters, hails from my previous fanfic Heroes Eternity. In this reality he was much older than the main cast and was an evil Tamer possessed and tasked to kill Nash in a flashback arc showcasing his origins. Nash and his friends managed to defeat Quinton and Sergeant. In the present time, Quinton, now in his 40s, was hired as a mercenary by Nash. Quinton found Mia, who had gone missing for some time, for Nash and brought her to him, then he and Sarge accompanied them to the final battle with Lee's forces.
- Quinton is my personal favorite character, along with Mia. Originally he and Sarge were just supposed to cameo as security guards in Anomaly but I increased their role and made them Alex's subordinates as well as the main source of comic relief. Their being Alex's minions is to parody the fact that they were Nash's in the last story. Quinton's role will be increased in the sequel, something I've been waiting to do for a long time. Also, yes, they are based on Reno and Rude from Final Fantasy VII. Or at least they were, like Jade they've evolved into something else entirely.
Ray
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Hair: Black
Eyes: Green
Date of Birth: January 17
Nationality: American
Known Relatives: None
Occupation: Police Corporal
Character Biography:
Ray Cameron grew up in America aside long-time friends Serph Slade, Mia Auria, Alex Burrel, Brick, Tom Redfield, Gabby Moreno, and of course: Hayley Viola. Over their time together, he became infatuated with Hayley and was at her side as often as he could be. During their high school days, he saved Hayley from a mugger and was slashed down the left side of his face with a broken bottle. The scar he retained from the confrontation always reminded him of his devotion to Hayley. After coming to Colonia, he followed in Nash Auria's (the group's mentor) footsteps and joined the police force. He knew Hayley wanted to as well, and he used his seniority over her to gain a mentor position to her when she joined. As Hayley began to delve deeper and deeper into the mystery of Anomalies, he began to feel they were becoming distant. However, when she went to meet Brick at the Hypertech Construction Site, she asked him to follow along since she sensed something was amiss.
Sure enough he showed up, but Hayley had already been killed. Ray went completely hysterical and arrested the first suspect he saw: Leena Booker. Determined to avenge Hayley in whatever way he could, he gave it his all to prove Leena was guilty. Eventually when Axel Moskau was revealed as the culprit, he began to accept the guiding words from Nash and came back to reality. He apologized to Leena afterward, and began to come to terms with Hayley's death. After Nash's passing, he continues to act as part of the police force under the new Chief: Joe Ausa, along with his annoying new partner: Harold Anderson. Ray and Harold arrived on the scene during the final battle between Gabby and Vy Nguyen, where Gabby proceeded to assault Ray and take him hostage. Vy managed to save him and Ray surprisingly jumped to Gabby's defense when Alex tried to arrest her, realizing the intense pressure she'd been under to make her commit such crimes.
First Appearance: Chapter 5

Original Concept By: Ray
Trivia/Notes:
- Ray is also from Heroes Eternity where he was one of the main characters. Early on in the story, he was part of a rebel team that frequently clashed with the main group of Mia, Gabby, and Hayley. Ray fell for Hayley during this time, even though she was dating his best friend Lance. Once Lance disappeared, abducted by Lee, Ray demonstrated his feelings for Hayley by battling an evil Tamer named Shaendru that was after her soul and ended up losing his own soul in the process. Once he was restored, he journeyed with Hayley to get Lance back.
- Shaendru, the villain I mentioned prior from Heroes Eternity, will be appearing in Anomaly War. He and Ray may encounter each other yet again, in this new reality…
- I built Ray up as a character early on that he would make a compelling witness during Leena's trial. I considered making him an Anomaly later on in the story but decided to keep him as a minor character, as the story needs human supporting characters as well as Anomalies. His partner, Harold, is actually from one of my older fictions: Heroes & Villains. Harold was a very minor character in that story as well and retains his surfer persona. Harold's last name is also 'Anderson' so I considered revealing him to be another relative of Keggy's, along with Mr. Levy's rival, in the pizza chapter. I cut this simply due to chapter length.

Character Biography:
Roy Davenport came to Colonia with his family after graduating high school. After he passed the test, he was allowed to bring his entire family with him since only one blood relative needs to pass the test in order for the whole family to migrate over. Not long after coming to Colonia, he was reborn as an Anomaly. Without control of his powers, he accidentally manipulated light into a spherical shape of matter and accidentally decimated a wall in his parents' living room. His parents were very shocked by this and his father called the cops on his own son. Police Chief Nash Auria knew what kind of case this was and called in APS, who confronted the young boy. When Roy resisted he battled Collin Halley, who was the only Anomaly registered in APS at the time. Collin easily bested Roy and showed him how much potential his powers had for growth. Roy joined them, making fast friends with Collin and becoming a pillar of APS' strength.
Roy was enraged by his death of his best friend and team-mate Miles Senate, seemingly at the hands of Axel Moskau. Roy was also the Anomaly to hunt down and capture Ash Harvelle when his identity as an Anomaly was brought to light. Serph Slade also chose Roy as a bodyguard for a short period of time, as he appeared to be the strongest of the group. When a reformed Axel was recruited into APS by Alex Burrel, Roy openly showed his disgust and stormed out. During the event where Eclipse was capturing all the known Anomalies, Roy battled Amelie Webbs to a standstill. She decided to let him escape and aid his friends, but Roy was taken down by a sneak attack from behind, courtesy of Felicia Addams. Following his rescue, Roy battled Tristan Gallagher in the catacombs beneath Central Tempest City, attempting to stop him from detonating a bomb. Tristan mocked Roy's ideals, warning him that he'd one day have to stop being soft and kill an opponent or he'd suffer even greater consequences.
Roy understood what Tristan had meant once Collin betrayed APS, destroyed the base, and critically wounded Roy in the process. Roy had a lot of time to repent while he recovered at the hospital, swearing to defeat Collin himself and drag an explanation out of him. Knowing that Collin had murdered Miles and so many others, Roy couldn't forgive him. The two met and waged their fiercest battle ever at Scofield Tower, where Collin constantly tried to push Roy to kill him. Once Collin realized Roy couldn't do it, he defeated Roy, but left him alive since Roy still insisted Collin was his friend even after the betrayal. Roy recovered despite his critical wounds and arrived at the rooftop in time to save Leena Booker from a crazed Collin. At the command of the Observer Yoshino Baker, he leapt from the roof with Leena and led Collin to his demise at the hands of Yoshino's Affinity Soul.
After the battle, Roy remained a member of APS alongside Justine and Axel.
Powers and Abilities:
Roy manipulates his Affinity of Light in order to create a physical blade that he uses as his primary weapon. This blade does not cut but has high destructive force packed into it. He can also add to its size depending on the amount of light available to him. Another of his abilities is to concentrate light into a ball of dense energy within his palm, hurling it to cause incredible damage. Roy also materializes body armor during fights, which makes him incredibly heavy. The weight doesn't affect his movements, though he must be careful on weak terrain. He recently mastered a new ability of his Light Affinity: the ability to glide fast across the ground in well-lit areas. This technique compensates for his prior lack of speed.
Once he attained his Secondary Affinity of Solid, he was able to morph the gauntlet onto his armor into a cannon and gained the ability to fire light spheres in rapid succession. He can also coat his blade of light with metal, making it a weapon capable of dealing death. He only did this once during his fight with Collin, but did not strike the killing blow.

Trivia/Notes:
- The unfortunate truth about Roy is I never had any ideas plot-wise for him. I always considered him part of the main group, but I found it incredibly difficult to plot out storylines revolving around him. I'm not sure why this was, but he still turned out to be a pretty popular character anyway. The one arc I always had planned for him wasn't until the very last volume, where he would find out the truth about Miles' death and battle Collin. So though it was a long wait, I feel in the end he turned out to be a very well-rounded character.
- I originally intended for it to appear that Collin had killed Roy and Roy wouldn't be revealed to be alive until the epilogue. However, with Gabby and Collin's deaths already in the final chapter I realized that this would've made things a bit too grim, so Roy showed up at the last moment to save Leena. There was some confusion about whether or not Roy had lost his arm; Collin cut through it but didn't sever it. It will heal in time.
- If Roy dating Justine seemed a bit tacked on, that's because it was. I did it partly to stop Tom from bothering me that one of his characters should get a girl (I'm not sure why that's so important to him) and partly to mislead people into thinking Collin was helping Roy out and being a good friend to him. I felt this would make Collin's betrayal a few chapters later even more surprising. Roy and Justine are a cute couple though, and there's no reason why they shouldn't be happy together.
