A/N: Since I write so many songs during class, I decided to make this a collection. Yeah, yeah, I know - I should pay attention. But sometimes you can't help yourself, especially if you're a dreamy writer and your mind is always wandering. What can I say, boredom is my inspiration.

Also note that most of these will probably be written during 20th Century Europe. Old, droning professor with a bad combover plus a natural disinterest in history courses...you do the math.

Illusion

Whenever I smile

Laugh so hard I cry

Give the impression I'm

So happy inside

It's all an illusion

-

Whenever I walk

On down the street

Swinging my hips and

Tapping my feet

It's all an illusion

-

Whenever I trick you

Into believing that I believe in myself

Don't feel bad 'cause

Sometimes it even works on me

-

But it's all an illusion

Like a clever card trick

Or a magician's routine

It's all an illusion

What you see is a

Well-constructed side of me

-

Because not too far down deep inside

I'm torn by my fears and doubts

And while I keep up my mask that lets me hide

Sometimes I want to shout

It's all an illusion

-

Whenever I let myself forget

And put away my insecurities

Sometimes I'll really feel

I'm living in a fantasy

-

Whenever I find myself gone that far

I'll look at my future and

See that it isn't settled at all

That's when I'll put back up the smoke and mirrors

Remember that illusion

-

So sometimes you'll get to see the real me

But after one glimpse

You'll realize that

You tend to prefer…

-

What you've learned is an illusion

Like a clever card trick

Or a magician's routine

It's all an illusion

What you see is a

Well-constructed side of me

-

Because not too far down deep inside

I'm torn by my fears and doubts

And while I keep up my mask that lets me hide

Sometimes I want to shout

-

It's alll an illusion
