Finally In My Hands

by, Cassandra

Then it's only you and me,
standing in a darkened room.
Something feels so right,
though this is completely wrong.

This isn't the me you knew;
I've changed so deep inside.
Finally I've seen the light,
and let loose the woman inside.

I'm sorry it happened this way;
not sorry it happened at all.
This has been years in the making,
and, at last, it's my time to shine.

You're shocked to say the least.
Can't say I understand why.
This was inevitable, darling.
It's just the way it had to be.

So smile one last time, my dear,
before your story comes to an end.
I can't let you overshadow me again.
My freedom is finally in my hands.
