A pile of dust, where my heart once stood

So strong and unafraid, shot down and fallen by your love

The tears on my cheeks, forced out of my eyes

By the pain your smile brings me

A knife in my hand, made not of steel but longing

Put there by my need for your touch

Air squeezed from my lungs at the sound of your voice

Gasping for breath to say the words

Blood pours from my arms, face, legs, stomach and neck

Feed from the love that flows from my veins

I paint everything red, the floors, walls and ceiling

In tribute to the feelings I refuse to express

As the light leaves my eyes know its all for the best

And that I'll love you far beyond death
