Change of the Tide

The moon pushes around the tide,

Cool clear water in the sea.

Playing a game of push and pull.

I watch the water rise and flee.

I stand at the edge of the ocean,

Silver blue foam hits my toes.

In the soft silvery light of the moon,

What happens here, nobody knows.

And now the moon is falling,

Just as the tide does too.

Sinking below the horizon,

Beginning the day anew.

Tonight the moon will rise again,

Pushing around the sea.

I watch the water run away,

Then watch it return to me.
