A/N: thank you all who reviewed! Glad to see that people are reading this.
Here's a sneak peak for all of you on a typical day in Vampire Rose Academy.
It is when the sun sets and the sky starts to burn red that you will see the lives of every vampire of each social class come to life. It is not that we cannot stand the sun; we just merely dislike it and prefer darkness because of our sensitive eyes.
Vampires drag themselves out of bed and get dressed, ready to face the day that is ahead of them. Slave Class vampires hurriedly went about doing their work serving and preparing meals for their masters. Chief Class vampires sit in their cushioned chairs reviewing the orders of their highness, cracking their head for the best way to carry out the orders as well as scanning through political documents of the human's world. Royal Class vampires allowed themselves to get dressed by their slaves as their mind drifted far away, already planning their next meeting with the great leaders of the humans.
Children of the Slave class went into their wear-down school in the villages and town whereas those belinging to the Chief Class goes to a pretty decent school, I presume. And as for the children of the Royal class? Well, I think you should have an idea of where they are getting ready to go.
The school bell chimes and the silvery-golden gates to Vampire Rose Academy open with a swing. Flower petals drifted down from the tall green trees and soft winds blew. Security guards stood at the entrance of the school and teachers lined up in a single file on each side of the pathway leading up from the school gate to the school's black-colored wooden door.
Wearing smiles of their faces, students start walking in, wearing their school uniforms neatly, their steps soft and light, eyes radiant and glimmering. Chattering and laughing in a low tone, they made their way into school.
But the main event has yet to happen. Any activities or lessons will not and cannot be conducted unless the young highnesses arrive. It is a school regulation. (Pathetic isn't it? No matter, let me continue describing a typical day of the lives of the vampires, will you?)
Three limousines arrived bearing the symbol of royalty on the hood - a red rose embedded with golden lining. All students, and teachers stopped moving and averted their full attention to the three limousines.
Stepping out from the first limousine is a boy with dark brown hair and green eyes, carrying a briefcase as well as his school bag. His face is clear of emotions and expressions. He looked left and right with the slightest shift of the eyes at the students before him. Turning his head slightly, he pulled his red lips into a thin line and waited for the girl to come out from the limousine.
Hair disarrayed, clothes crumpled and eyes glaring, the girl stumbled out form the car and quickly went to stand beside the boy, trying frantically to smooth out the creases on her clothes and ignore the heavy stares from the entire student body.
"Not really how you should look on the first day of school as my official fiancée…" he murmured quietly into her ear.
That girl? It's me. Sapphire Granché.
"Shut the hell up, Lucius. Your father hasn't determined who would be his next successor yet. Don't be so full of yourself." I hissed back.
He said nothing in return and adjusted his blazer in place.
After his limousine drove away, the second limousine moved forward. A man in black coat came out from the driver's seat and opened the door to the passenger's. A pair of long legs stepped out first followed by a head with silvery blonde hair. Combing his hair with his long elegant fingers, the corners of his lips quirked up. He took off his sunglasses revealing a pair of sparkling purplish-red eyes that's glimmering with humor and mischief. Immediately, (and pretty much routinely if you ask me) girls started swooning and screaming, calling out his name. Boys however, looked at him in awe and envy.
"Good morning, my dearest Sapphire." he greeted in his singsong voice once he came to stand beside me. I rolled my eyes and turned my head back to see the third and last limousine's door open.
"Uh-huh. Yeah. No! I told you that it must be exactly what I wanted! Don't you even know how to do simple maths! For the love of Lucifer! Whatever. I'm in school. Call you when school's over." that's probably what you would hear every time you're with the boy that's stepping out from the third limousine. His brown hair is always combed messily to the back was waving in the wind. Wearing spectacles that hid a pair of misty grey eyes and with a smile that can make you fall in love with him and the next minute hate him in a snap, Darren, the youngest prince looked up to see the entire student body looking and staring at him.
"Darren, hurry up, damn it! Everyone's waiting for you!" Derek shouted as he waved his hands enthusiastically.
"Shut up Derek." Darren muttered, advancing towards us. "How are you doing today, love?" he whispered once he was behind me.
"I'm not your love. I do not belong to either of you yet. Please do understand that." I spat in a harsh yet soft voice.
All two princes smirked in unison except for Lucius. Bloody arrogant brats! I mentally cursed.
Together, the four of us looked ahead at the entire student body. Taking the lead is of course, Lucius. The moment he started walking, the entire student body split into two, opening a passage to the door of the school. Casting a glance at me, then at his brothers, he nodded at us to follow him.
"Looks like it's time for school to start. Big brother there gave everyone the approval." Derek laughed.
I sighed as Darren took his place on my right, while his brother stood on my left. "Are you ready to present yourself as the fiancée of the next king or are you still in your little simple world where you're only Sapphire Granché of the Royal Class?" Darren whispered, nudging my arm with his.
"How should I know? All of a sudden, your father decided to contact my father and have an arranged marriage meeting for me and the future heir to the throne. I'm not prepared for this yet! And by far, all three of your are the worst guys I can end up having a life with!" I glared at them while we walked.
"Don't say that! You know we just love you and we're gonna take good care of you and shower you with luxuries. Especially me of course. If you're my queen, I'll be eternally loyal to you and never take any concubines or mistresses unlike the kings of the past!" said the vampire with the most hottest and juiciest scandals surrounding him.
"Even the dumbest human on earth wouldn't believe that." Darren pointed out blatantly.
"Hey! That's-" Derek protested but was cut short when Lucius halted and opened the door while saying, "That's enough. All three of you."
Turning around sharply, he tugged at my arm and spun me around so that I'm facing the student body once more. Nodding his head to his right, he motioned his younger brothers to stand beside him, each on one side while I stood in front of him, his hands resting on my shoulders.
Confused, I turned my head around to look at him. But he did not spare a glance but looked at the public. His hands on my shoulders tightened and I finally caught up to what he was thinking. My face began to heat up from embarrassment.
In his deep, authoritative voice, he announced loudly, "My dearest fellow friends, as all of you have known, Sapphire Granché has become the next fiancée to the heir of the throne! All of you must have met her before, I presume. She's no stranger to any of you! Being the top of the class, my vice chairman of the student council committee, active in sports, head organizer of many school events, she is - clearly - chosen for her sense of leadership, her wisdom, and her strong personality and character by our father, His Majesty Kendrick! I expect all of you treat her with equal respect as any of you treat my brothers and I. As of the official announcement made on the news yesterday night, Sapphire Granché is no longer just a mere Royal Class vampire. She belongs to the Golden Circle - Vampires who are directly related to my family! Treat her well, as you would to a princess. That is all."
To my utter horror, everyone obediently bowed as we turned our back towards them and entered the school building. The air was silent and tense. I could already feel girls who were once my friends glaring daggers at my back.
"That was bloody uncalled for! Now people are going to hate me even more!" I pulled my arms away from Lucius angrily.
"You are the next Queen of the Vampires. You need to officially announce that in front of the community you are in now. That's one of your responsibility or are you already starting to be defiant? People are bound to hate you. People with no power will hate those with power. It's the rule of life. Swallow it up and act like an obedient yet strong-spirited princess."
I swallowed a gulp of saliva at his stern tone. "God… I hate you. All of you."
"And I hate you too." Lucius looked at me from the corner of his eyes before looking straight ahead once more. "I'll let you know that for a fact that I do not wish to marry you either. But my father's orders must and always be done. And because of that, neither you nor I have the choice. My father may rule over all and bring stability and peace to the world. But when he is crossed, he can be deathly cruel. He has chosen a liking to you when he met you at the palace ball over two years ago. From then on, he kept a tight inspection on you and your daily life. Finally, he found you fit to be wed to either me or any of my brothers and be the next queen. And as for me, I want to be the next ruler. That is all."
I kept silent as our pace slowed down. The three princes started chatting among themselves and I was oblivious to their conversation.
The palace ball… Now that was interesting… That's something all of you need to know, now that I think about it. It was when I just entered Vampire Rose Academy as a freshman. Darren was a freshman, just like me too. Derek was a second year student and Lucius was a third year and a member of the student council committee. (In Vampire Rose Academy, students are enrolled in once they reach the age of fifteen and complete a five year course starting from Level 1)
Yeah… it's an interesting story of how I first got to meet the princes officially. I should tell all of you who are interested. I really should. But that's for next time.
Until then,
Welcome, all who are curious, into the splendid life of - the rich, famous, - Royal Class vampires where scandals, sadness, betrayal, angst, insecurity, happiness and love ensues. Welcome, to the Vampire Rose Academy.
