To Forgive and Forget
As we lay our heads to sleep,
We pray our souls the sky will keep.
For freedom fighters fly with star,
They sing of a time so very far.
Before brother took his sister's hand,
The family which made this land
Fought for nothing, all against
Those who sang of sweet dispense.
What was lost, now not found
Grows at last beneath heated ground.
And those stars to whom we pray
They answer only in laughter, slain.
Forgiveness is such a hard attempt
As to forget is a sin, unkempt.
