If yet my words offend your dreary thoughts,
then turn your eyes away from written page.
The damage won't reveal unworthy costs
spent keeping me confined within this cage.
I am not one to move against your fists
but my own hopes are only true to blame
for every mem'ry stained upon your wrists,
you lie so still, despairing in your pain.
I lived to feel the limits of your love
when separation drew us far to shred
and with the exit of a graceless dove,
I lay this thorny crown upon your head.
As I define your nightmares with my pen,
you speak "You'll never be my own again."
