Sleeping Inside of you

I lay in wait for your mistake

You lie

Dead besides

Me I cry

Why don't you cry?

You want me

Just to die I'll humor you

But I'm still inside.

You're the pretty one

The sister they love

You're the gift from above

Soft-spirited; a little dove.

Filled with hate as a doll Of wrath

Dormant I crawl

I'm coming for you

The beaten one

In every sun

The core of iron

I'm the special one.

When I come

When I come

I'll come closer

So that I can

Steal you away

from me

I'll pick you up and keep you

Free You'll be like a bird In my love

And I'll keep you safe

Inside of me

Where the grubby hands

Can't reach you

And you're warm and safe

Where I can feel you breathe.

You want to die

But you can't

Cry I wait for you inside.

You want to prove

Once and for all

You're alive

It's your downfall

Protected I'm

Sleeping here

Where you let me

I'm inside of you

Your peaceful sleep can't Be rent apart.
Stuck here I don't Feel your heart.

Holding tight

A flower and a seed,

Let go of your blossom,
Sister.

A child with a little China doll

You hold on

With no real pull

And I'm the force

That opposes you

I'll change your course

You can have your due.

When I come

When I come

I'll come closer

So that I can

Steal you away from me

I'll pick you up and keep you

Free You'll be like a bird In my love

And I'll keep you safe

Inside of me

Where the grubby hands

Can't reach you And you're warm and safe

Where I can feel you breathe.

Eating and drinking

Gods gorge as men

With a butterfly In her cage

Fluttering within

A Mother with

Her child And a wolf

With its prey

I'll take you Inside myself

And keep you Here with this heart.

Poor fragile paper

Cannot hold your soul

Let go of your life

And turn back to coal

A present from A pixie

You give it all away

Wait'll I come

Keep me here

With your thoughts

Tucked into a corner

Warm without

A care

I care

You care

We care

I'll be safe here

So I can save your life.

When I come

When I come

I'll come closer

So that I can

Steal you away from me

I'll pick you up and keep you

Free You'll be like a bird In my love

And I'll keep you safe Inside of me

Where the grubby hands

Can't reach you

And you're warm and safe

Where I can feel you breathe.

Well, well, well. It would appear my dark mind spawned something new this morbid eve, wouldn't it?

But seriously.

I wrote this about my feelings of being more than one person. One person who is easily angered and violent, and another who is kind but sad. I switch hopelessly between these two. I feel like I was meant to write the poem for my angered self to my sad self, about how my angry side protects me and keeps me safe, while I'm usually the one holding the angry me safe inside a special corner of my mind.
