First Kiss

By Lauryn Hadlund

A sunset on a beach,

The stars in the night sky,

Fireworks erupting,

A small dragonfly,

A nice roaring fire,

In a cabin by a lake,

Drinking hot cocoa,

Seeing a snowflake,

Music from a flute,

The dew on morning grass,

Pretending to be mute,

The beauty of stained glass,

The brushing of fingers

In a theater so dark,

Setting of ringers

In both of their hearts,

Christmas Eve night,

With the lights on so low,

Not feeling the bite

Of the cold winter's snow,

The thump of two hearts,

As both try not to miss,

These put together

Are the pleasure of one's first kiss.
