Smooth River Stream

Smooth river stream, cool summer night.

Let the trees leaves flutter way out of sight.

Let the fireflies do their own little dance,

And soft ripples rush the waters by the winds of chance.

Let a silver sliver of moon slip away in the sky,

And the cat tails hush a sweet lullaby.

Let cicada play and cricket sing

Of the fair twinkling star dust the night time bring.

Drop a sad little letter, watch it drift away,

Only to be met by the tawny day.
