Author's Note

I had this idea that just came to me out of knowhere and left me with this scene below.. I now know what I'm going to do with the story but haven't yet posted the beginning. ( but once the beginning comes, this excerpt will be gone.. far off.. into who knows where..)

The color from his face drained away as he saw Melanie behind him. He turned around and pinned her to the wall. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I was just in the neighborhood."

"Liam." She said with the same irritated voice.

"Don't call me Liam, my name is William." he let go and glared.

"Yeah, whatever."

He huffed "Melanie leave this place now!"

"No. not until you answer all my questions."

"Then, I'm afraid you leave me no choice."

William waved his hand above her face and recited a couple of words. Melanie fell into his arms and the darkness slowly consumed her.

William tip toed to Melanie's room holding her tightly in his arms. He layed her down on her bed and gently swiped away a hair from her face. Liam broke out into smile as he looked at her. She's so beautiful, he thought He stroked her hair and gently hugged her tightly. He whispered softly into her golden hair "Be good my Melanie." He kissed her forehead and headed off to leave.

"William." she mumbled softly. William stopped dead in his tracks and looked back at Melanie. His heart pounded as she said again "William." Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up on her bed. She looked confused and dazed as she looked around where she was. Then her eyes suddenly widened at who she saw standing in front of her bedroom door. William turned to leave.

"No, don't go. I want to talk to you. I want answers."

"Melanie, I don't know-"

"I know what I saw. Is it so hard just to friggin' tell me!? At least answer why you're here." He just looked at her. "You aren't going to answer that either." She looked down to where her hands and said "Truth be out. You will not doubt. Tell me everything you're all about." She looked evilly at him and smirked.

"Why'd you just-"

"Why are you here?" she asked anxiously.

Then suddenly his mouth started moving on its own telling her everything " I was sent by your real father to guard and protect you until you came of age, where you would be taken back to your palace." he looked befuddled that he had said so much.

She raised her eyebrow and put her hands on her waist "Uh, boy are you on crack?"

He scowled " No, I am actually on a stupid spell that you've casted that I didn't even know could be casted with the words you've recited. Could you please take it off?" he gritted.

"Nope. Oh my gosh! If the truth spell does work that means you'll answer me honestly in everything I ask!

He sighed hopelessly "Yes, I'm afraid so."

"Ahh! That is so cool! I didn't even know I could do stuff like this, I thought I could only disappear and manipulate peoples minds. Ahh! New question!"

"No, don't-"

"Why are you in my room?"

"You followed me to Resmor where you wouldn't cooperate with what I was telling you. I hadn't known that you had gotten so powerful that you could trick me into thinking you weren't even there. So when you wouldn't listen I put you to sleep and brought you here, You weren't suppose to wake until tomorrow but I'm afraid I've underestimated you."

She growled and grabbed her pillow. She attacked him over the head with it again and again and said "Idiot! Don't you ever put a spell on me again!" Then all her thoughts just came out. "Why didn't you just tell me all this before? Do you think when I 'came of age'" she quoted with her fingers " I would just come with you?Didn't you think I'd think you were crazy? Did you even think about me!?"

"Yes, I did. Quite a bit actually."

There was silence.

"Liam, what happened the first time I met you?"

"You found your soul mate."

"Soul mate." she breathed. "Er.. how does that work?"

"What makes the other person your soul mate is that they are already apart of you, as they have always been since the beginning of time, only difference is that soul mates usually get separated once the bodies die. When you find your soul mate, you find your other half that makes you happy and whom you are meant to be with for the rest of eternity. "

"Then why aren't we together?"

"Because you must marry Prince Bells."

"But, I don't want to. I don't even know him."

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter? It doesn't matter!? It matter to me Liam!" She shot him a glare and walked towards him. " Don't you want to be happy? Don't you want to feel whole again? Can't you fight for what 's rightfully yours? Do you even love me as much as I love you?" Melanie's glare instantly turned to an expression of embarrasment. Her hands came to her mouth and her cheeks burned as she had realized what she had just said. She spoke softly now. "Do you even love me?" she asked fearfully.

William brought his hands to her cheeks and looked at her straight in the eyes "More than you will ever know, Melanie. But that doesn't matter. Our feelings for each other don't matter. You must marry- "

Melanie pressed her mouth to his before he could say anymore and her arms came around his neck. William was startled but after a seconds hesitation he gripped Melanie's waist and pulled her closer to him. Melanie's hands fiddled with his hair as the gentle kiss had turned into a rough, passionate one. William's mouth traveled slowly down her neck always coming back to her mouth. They slowly lowered themselves onto her bed never breaking apart. Their arms wrapped around each other tightly as if knowing that they wouldn't get another chance again. Liam brought his hand to her face and broke the kiss.
