"… yes dad, I did remember to program Donovan's neural cell pattern into the retina scan before I left." Even with these calming words, I find myself pacing back and forth; I suppose this is just out of habit. Lord knows I'm a creature of habit.
"But did you remember the dog?" I inquire, hoping for the best and yet still anticipating the worst.
"Yes, I didn't forget about spark either."
"Excellent! Then I suppose you're on your way here now?"
"I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Then I suppose I shall see you then."
I smile after I get off the phone with my daughter, that girl is sharp as a tack… sharper even! Then again, why should I expect any less from my offspring? Now I can rest assured that while I'm gone, no one will be able to break into my lab, but my flesh-eating Kinwapples can still be taken care of. Just at the thought of those cute little critters I remember the first time I ever beheld one. It was about two years back when I tried to make the world's first fusion of a pineapple and kiwi. The experiment didn't quite go as planned and at first I was devastated. But those little guys had a way of wrapping me around their little non-existent appendages and they taught me that not all failures are bad. Perhaps I could release them to the public as a new breed of pet! Of course, I would have to find a way to make them less… aggressive. I shudder at the thought of what would happen if an unarmed child ever came in contact with a flesh-eating Kinewapple. That would be just tragic.
A/N: See? This is what happens when you talk to your friends.
