A Sea full of Sorrow

Long ago when the earth was only a child and the Sun and Moon were young. Moon was as kind as she was beautiful. And Sun was as ruthless as he was bright. When Earth and Venus was born Sun was disappointed in Earth for being dry and ugly. As Earth grew older Sun's disappointment showed more and more.

Every night when Sun and Moon said goodnight to their children . Sun would say goodnight and kiss Venus, he would shine brighter. But when it was Earth's turn, her father's light would go dull.

After her parents left and she was sure her father was gone Earth would get out of bed and walk to the milky way. Silently her mother followed her. Moon found her daughter scrunched up into a ball. Earth just sat there.

Moon walked toward her daughter and sat next to her, Earth's face was still turned toward the milky way. But her eyes were settled on her mother. Her mother had sapphire eyes, white silver hair, and was pale. Her face was heart shape and her lips were red. She was beautiful.

He doesn't hate you Moon said suddenly. Then picked her daughter up like she was nothing but air. Gently she cradled her daughter then began to sing.

Before Earth closed her eyes Moon gazed into them but saw nothing but sadness. Moon cried silently over her daughter. After a minute streams of tears had began to wrap around Earth's body.

Silently she stopped crying and went back to put Earth to bed. This happened every night until a blue green silk covered Earth's body. This is how the ocean was made.
