A/N: Hey Everyone. So I made a few changes. As some of you may have noticed, I added a preface. Sorry for the long wait for something new but I'm conflicted with how much I show. Anyway, Enjoy.
PREFACE
Prophecy Angel
"Kill the angel." A voice slithered out of the darkness.
A man in a black suit pulled out a glossy black gun and without hesitation fired a bullet into the left side of the Angel's collarbone.
"No!" A young man yelled. He laid flat on his stomach somewhere on a deserted street. His hands were bounded behind him.
The bullet buried deep into the angel's flesh and damaged the veins underneath. Blood rose up from the wound. It began to overflow through the gap and dripped to the cement floor.
"Be calm, Joseph. Everything will be okay." The angel whispered. Words such as filth, disgrace, and failure were carved into his arms, legs and his chest. The angel slumped over a bike railing. Rope tore into the skin around his ankles and his wrists as it held him captive and bound. From his shoulder blades, wings sprouted from his back. Usually, they would look radiant against the light. But, so much dirt and blood stained the white feathers. Some of the feathers had been pulled away from the wing bone. The white bone now exposed. Dirty feathers littered the sidewalk then scattered along the road as the wind blew pass.
The Angel's wings were tied up too. A pack of four surrounded the mauled up Angel and young man. The man who lead the other three stepped forward grabbing the angel's hair. "Stupid Nathaniel, you are a disgrace to the Archangels. Why would you pity a human boy and his sister? You should not get involved in earthly politics."
The Angel avoided eye contact with the leader.
The leader smirked. He leaned down to face Nathaniel. "Don't avoid the truth. We both know that the Elizabetha family is far from normal. That boy's sister is a half breed and the boy is her…" He paused. "Well, that won't matter now. He'll just be another corpse next to yours." He stood up and paced around the Angel and the boy. "Want to be let in on a little secret? Well, funny enough, the boy's own parents gave him up or rather requested us to kill him. Apparently he doesn't measure up to their high expectations. They say he has too much good in his heart. It won't do well in their line of business. Though for now, his sister, they say, has potential for evil. With the boy out of the way, there is a better chance for the scales to be tipped sending his sister straying from the light and the good."
"She's a good person. I will never believe that she will choose evil over good. Never. Even death won't stop me from protecting her." He vowed.
"Believe whatever you want. It won't change the course of her path. And you're human, what could you probably do from the grave?"
The boy's heart sunk. He could feel the end of his life approaching.
"You did the best you could for her, Joseph." Nathaniel reminded him, encouraging a bit of strength back into the boy.
"We both did." Joseph corrected. "I don't regret a thing or the path I chose. I've always been willing to sacrifice myself to keep her safe and alive."
Gunfire echoed through the alley. The shooter shot the Angel in his ribcage. Nathaniel didn't make a sound, expecting what was to become of him.
"Remember this day because one day I shall return. I may burn to ash today but I will return and rise up again just like a Phoenix." Nathaniel hauntingly promised.
The man shot the Angel's heart five times, overdoing it. Though, it wasn't out of character. He and the other three were always cruel.
The leader of the group stalked over to the boy and kicked his side. Joseph grunted. Afterwards, the boy remained silent, taking in Nathaniel strength. He dared himself not to react. It would only please the four if he cried, screamed or pleaded with them. Instead, he pushed himself from the concrete street and stood on his two feet. Just as he stood straight, a bullet lunged into his stomach. The blow was fierce enough to send him to the ground again, landing onto his knees. He stared at the shooter. The shooter smirked, raised his gun and repeated the act of shoot his victim in the heart five times. The Four gathered the bodies, dragging them over to their car and threw them into the trunk.
"Come on, boys," The leader urged them to get into the vehicle, "we have a Prophecy Angel to kill."
