Something like a
clock, ticking out
the minutes
the seconds
the breaths
Moments(times—minutes and
hands) you breathed out and
I breathed in(seconds)
your smell, words
lingering in the silence
before the next(tick)
louder in the quietness
that comes (and as quietly goes)
after you

It is cold and (like you)
steady, steady
breaths and tempo
(tick, tick)
Nothing stops time(like you)
nothing stops the
hands(minutes) from moving
and breaths that come
(quietly ticking) in
and out

You come and go like
time(moments) and
(not unlike it)
I could hold your hand
but never keep you.
