..when you go away, I get so low, like temperatures when they're at their coldest, when you go away I get so lonely, and I'm stranded by the side of the bed

A/N Oh crap. It's been two months LOL..actually it isn't so funny. And I know I said it was going to be long in the previous chapter but..I decided to make it short (1700 words ). Please please please enjoy :)

P.S the song is Stay Where I Can See You by The Starting Line

Twenty-Nine

"Great place to talk Rox, we're sandwiched between Sir Farts-A-Lot and General Smells-Like-Turd," Nate drummed his fingers unconsciously on the wooden table.

Roxanne and Nate sat uncomfortably close beside each other by the table, trying to avoid contact with other neighbouring people. They were situated in a local coffee shop that was near their tour bus. "Well excuse me for wanting to create a romantic atmosphere," Roxanne rolled her eyes. She pressed her hand over Nate's to stop his jittering.

Nate swallowed back a snort, "That's actually really cute of you."

She made a face at him, "Whatever. Anyway, we have to talk," she said seriously.

He grinned, "You know when girls say that line, us guys immediately start tuning out everything they say afterward."

Roxanne reached over to smack his head, "Don't be a jerk, I had to sleep in your egregious tour bus last night, I'm surprised that you're complaining about being between these people," she said with amusement.

Nate leaned back in his chair, "Fine, what do you want to talk about?"

She stopped chewing on her lip, "Well, I want to make this quick so, I really like you, you know," she started bluntly.

"I really like you too," Nate interrupted.

There was a brief silence. He took a sip from his latte.

"Why isn't this awkward?" Roxanne asked carefully.

"I don't know, do you want to make it awkward?" Nate raised his eyebrows.

"You're an asshole ninety-nine point nine percent of the time," she said, forcing a smile off her face.

"I know, but that zero point one percent is a huge portion isn't it?"

"Perhaps, but I'm still mad at you for making me your Barbie," Roxanne pointed out. She finished the last gulp of her iced coffee.

"So your question is, 'why do I still like this charming, handsome, ravishing-"

"Modest," she added sarcastically.

"- idiot, who is extremely sorry and promises to never ever lie again- to you anyway, and loves you very much, so much that he'll buy you another coffee,' " Nate finished.

Roxanne averted her eyes, "Please don't say that," she said in a meek whisper.

Nate blinked, " 'Buy you another coffee'? "

Roxanne stared at him. He flinched, "Oh, okay," he grinned. "Let me rephrase that, 'and likes you very much, so he'll buy you another coffee.' Better?"

"Quite," she said.

"Hm, I bet that I like you more than you like me," he proposed.

Roxanne rolled her eyes again, "I bet you do," she grinned.

"A good girlfriend would deny it, but fine, I'll take that as an answer too."

"Who said I was your girlfriend? I still haven't forgiven you yet," Roxanne said with a flatter tone.

Nate's expression immediately changed, "What do you mean?" he asked softly.

Roxanne grabbed a hold of Nate's cup and splashed the contents on his clothes. All the people turned their heads to see what the commotion was. "What the hell was tha-"

Roxanne stuck out her hand, "Hi, I'm Roxanne, I believe you owe me a coffee," she laughed.

"And I believe we're even now?" Nate looked down at his coffee soaked shirt.

"You're officially forgiven."

"Well no wonder she was upset," Natalie said sympathetically. She crossed her legs on Sebastian's bunk.

"Girls over think everything, Nate ended up actually liking her in the end, shouldn't that be the only thing that matters? Sebastian inquired.

Natalie snickered, "And guys are dense, if I was in that situation, I would be afraid the guy would lie to me again. It's humiliating you know."

"Yeah well, Nate is really stupid sometimes but he's a really honest person overall," he pointed out.

"I know he is. How are you and Aubrey?" she asked sincerely.

"We haven't talked in a long time because I've been busy with the band, but I think we're still doing well," he said uncomfortably. It bothered him to talk about Audrey with Natalie.

Natalie grimaced and she moved closer to Sebastian, "Okay look, some people are really stupid and take what they have for granted, you just have to find someone who appreciates every little thing they get," she said with wide eyes.

Sebastian gave her a puzzled look, "Um, Natalie? What are you talking about?"

"I'm-pretty-sure-Audrey-is-cheating-on-you," she blurted out quickly. "There was a recent picture of her kissing some random guy- you're so much better- in People magazine. I'm so sorry, I didn't want to be the one to tell you," she added before he could say anything.

Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows and waited for his heart to ache and shatter in a million pieces. It didn't. Huh. "Oh. Well that sucks," he said in a daze. Natalie was probably waiting for him to start bawling too.

"Sebastian.." Natalie started; she figured that he was in complete shock. She lifted her hand to pat his back awkwardly.

"No, it's fine, I'm fine, in fact, I feel kind of free," Sebastian said, enlightened.

"Okay lovebirds, it's time to go, the show is back on because Nate says he's fine," Teddy hollered. He did a double take, "Wait- what the hell is Natalie doing here?"

Natalie rolled her eyes, "It's nice to see you again after two years, too, Teddy," she snickered.

Teddy gave Sebastian a crude look then told him to hurry up again.

"Is it alright that I'm on the bus?" Natalie asked, now slightly concerned.

"Yeah it's fine," Sebastian said as he got up off the bunk bed, "Teddy's just a dick sometimes, let's go."

Blaire was waiting outside the bus with Tessa and Chase there. Slowly, the band started assembling. "Nate, you're late," she said, glaring daggers at him. Roxanne shied her gaze.

"That rhymed!" Parker piped in. "What's up Nat, I haven't seen you in forever! So your Sebastian's next victim-"

Sebastian slugged his arm. "Good, we're all here, the concert starts in less than an hour and we have to get all our equipment ready," Blaire said sternly. Everyone started to walk towards the venue.

Roxanne caught up with Nate, "Is the concert outside? Like on the field?" she asked.

"Yeah, it's a benefit concert so there are a lot of other bands here too," he replied.

"Oh," Roxanne breathed. "I would've gladly paid for a ticket, what's the cause?"

"I dunno, a hurricane hit somewhere and killed lots of people," Nate said blankly. "Ow!" he cried out when Roxanne punched him. "What was that for?" She just shook her head as they entered the field.

Stages were being set up and technical people were running around shouting into microphones. "Come on!" Nate urged as he grabbed Roxanne's hand. He led her to a cluster of picnic tables.

"Hey, one of the bands are practicing, shouldn't you be doing the same thing..?" Roxanne asked. She heard a faint song playing in the background.

"The band can wait," Nate smirked as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Care to dance?" he asked.

Roxanne giggled as she did a curtsey and put her arms around his neck. They stepped back and forth quietly.

I tried to read between the lines, I tried to look in your eyes

"The environment is fresh here!" Roxanne breathed in the air, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, it is," Nate said quietly.

She pressed her lips together, "Hey, what's wrong?"

"What's going to happen to this?" he asked.

"To what?"

"To this," he pulled her in closer and kissed her gently. "I'm in a fucking band that has to tour everywhere but I want to be with you at the same time."

I want a simple explanation; what I'm feeling inside
I gotta find a way out, maybe there's a way out

Roxanne smiled genuinely, "You play dates in my city don't you?"

"Yeah but it's not the same..." he trailed off.

"Promise me you'll come to my city, I'll visit you after, maybe I'll get to see the winter or autumn version of Nate, he'll be wearing cute little sweatshirts and jackets," she perked up. "And corny as it sounds, I'll be right-" she placed her hand over his cheat, "-here."

"Maybe," his lips cracked upwards. "Man, you are a softie inside."

"Shut up," she said.

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?

"You know, this was more fun when we were soaking wet with rain and possibly about to get hit by a car," Roxanne pointed out.

"We'll do that again sometime," Nate said, closing his eyes.

You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the
colors

I don't wanna ever love another

"Look, I have to go perform now, budge your way to the front of the stage okay? And punch anyone that tries to pull you in the mosh pit," he advised with mock seriousness.

Roxanne pulled him into a hug and whispered in his ear, "I bet that I can eat more bowls of mint ice cream than you can."

"Mint ice cream tastes like toothpaste," Nate complained.

"Too chicken?"

"The King of Bets doesn't back out on a challenge, it's a date!" he declared. "Later, Rox," he kissed her on the forehead and sprinted off with flailing arms and legs.

Roxanne pulled out an ancient CD player and popped a disc in. She listened intently to the song lyrics as her eyes fluttered for sleep. Maybe she was going to miss this one performance, but that didn't matter. He wasn't going anywhere, and she had a bet to win.

You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder

THE END

Wow, I've never finished a story in my life before, and I've been writing sappy fiction crap since the second grade! I didn't even make it to 30 chapters -.- Ahaha oh well. I'm sorry if you guys were expecting more. I just felt it was the right time to end it because I didn't want to drag the story any further, I would've ended it in the last chapter..but- I didn't :) But because this is the conclusion PLEASE leave a review telling me what you liked, didn't like, loved, and hated about the story (hopefully you remembered the story ahaha)! Tell me what I need to do to improve for future stuff.

I'm sad that it's over but kind of relieved :) I've spent way too long on this :P I'm so happy with the feedback I got, it's amazing. A BIG XOXO FOR EVERYONE WHO READ THIS STORY, EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T FINISH IT!
