A Fairytale Ending

The clock strikes one far, far away
Mist in the forest clears away mysteriously
Raindrops like diamonds fall
To serve as chandeliers upon leaves
Pitter patter pitter patter
Masking the swishing of fairy wings
And pixies in gossamer gowns dancing in the breeze
Fireflies with excitement twirl about
Much to the delight of the disco crowd
Everyone has her partner
Except maybe the fairy hiding in the corner
Who feels ugly and undeserving
Of such romantic surroundings
Then to her utter delight and surprise
A handsome young elf comes up and says,
Although dear fairy I'm afraid to fly
You're just too beautiful so I'll have to give it a try.

Which immortal could resist such charm
So off went the couple arm in arm
A fairytale ending no less achieved
Amidst the throng of glittery beings.
