This is my new story and no I haven't forgotten about I don't want to be normal, which I hope to update later on today. I just had to get this story out, I believe it needs to be told. It has been sitting in my head screaming for attention for too many days. So here you go the Truth about Skinny interesting title no?
So please read and review.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"Promise not to tell" he whispered into my face. He was so close to me that I could feel his body heat and his ocean blue eyes stared into mine. My hormones were going overtime and responding to his sex appeal so much so that I didn't even hear what he said.
"Huh?" I asked knocked into reality by the jarring sound of students rushing to and fro in the hall. The second bell rang loudly and I clung to the textbooks I just realized were in my hand. Compared to me Ethan didn't even have on a backpacks or carry books, but he did have on his tie and slacks which were the customary uniform for J.A.Y.
He shifted on his feet and made a face that showed his impatience, "C'mon Skinny, is your head full of fluff already? It's just the first day of school, but you promise not to tell about…well, you know."
He ruffled my hair as he spoke and I stepped back annoyed . I hated that Ethan did that, and I hated that he still insisted on calling me by my middle-school nickname. It was the first day of high school after all, no need to stay in the past.
"Of course not, why would I?" I snap annoyed as some kid bumped into me on his way to get to class.
"Great!" he answered turning around to leave quickly. I guess he couldn't further risk his social status by being seen with me. He had come and said what he had to say, what he said every first day, and then he would never speak to me again for the rest of the year.
I could see him walking down to the very end of the hall where his loyal group of followers waited. That's right he already had disciples on the first day of school.
They gave him curious looks as he approached as if to say: 'Why were you talking to that loser?'
I watched the back of Ethan's perfectly styled midnight hair as he gave them reassuring pats on the back as if to say: 'What you saw never happened'.
Like a swarm of ants the large group left the hall with their new leader in tow, Ethan, crowned Mr. Popularity on the first day of school.
If only I had such luck.
I closed my locker door and made my way to the lunchroom where I knew for a fact I would be eating alone.
Fast-forward three years to the beginning of our senior year.
Nothing much has changed, we are taller and older and still ignore each other. Ethan's telling me the same tired line he gives me every first day, but this time I'm not so enchanted. I wave him away with nods of understanding and secrecy and true to form he runs off to meet with his cronies.
I'll admit I once had a serious crush on Ethan, I'll even go as far to say I was infatuated, heck, it is a right of passage for every girl at J.A.Y. But I am so over that phrase, really I am! In fact I hate his guts.
You may think 'how could I not love Ethan, the god at Jason Avery's Young Achievers Academy? Not love the guy every girl was vying for a seat at the lunch table next to, the guy that was every girl's prom date dream ? Ethan with his perfectly styled black hair and sky blue eyes, the one every guy wants to be and every teacher wants to suck up to, how could I not love him you ask?
Because I can, get over it!
Maybe he would be easier to hate if he was mean, but alas even there he was deemed a perfect gentleman. He holds open the door for every girl in school even Sarah Stevens the self-proclaimed fattest chick in school. (She made up that title—not me!) He carried books for Melissa sophomore year when she broke her leg, (it is mysterious how immediately after that several girls injured their leg), and he even managed to befriend Thomas, who is, how can I put this nicely, the most nerdy guy in school. I think Ethan's clique only puts up with Tom because he lives in a mansion with parents who always leave alcoholic beverages lying around and also because he is Ethan's cousin, go-figure.
Now before you go bugged-eyed drooling and whining about how you wished you knew an Ethan, let me make this clear. Ethan is a jerk, a class A ass wipe. Still don't believe me?
Why else would he be keeping the fact that we are engaged to be married from the whole school?
Are you convinced yet?
