A/N: This poem was originally inspired by the song 'Imperfection' by Skillet. Love it :) You're not the only one drowning in imperfection...

You all have so much to give
All of you, so wonderful
Wrapped up in your own self image.

Do you see me wasting away in the background?

Tears run down my hideous face
As I look into the mirror
And ask why it hasn't cracked.

Do you see me wasting away in the background?

I wonder why I bother trying to fit in
I will never be noticed, I might as well
Hide my face; commit my body to the ground.

Do you see me wasting away in the background?

This person will self destruct in 5 seconds...

...

Your glory asphyxiates me always
And you don't even notice
How much you are loved, coveted.

Do you see me staring in the background?

You hate yourself, and I fail to understand
How someone of your beauty and compassion
Could feel so desolate.

Do you see me staring in the background?

I worry about what you will do
To that magnificent body of yours
I may have to become you if you leave.

Do you see me staring in the background?

This person will replace you in 5 seconds...

A/N: Ok, now there is something I really don't like about this poem...I don't like the flow. Any suggestions?

God Bless You
