Dawnkeeper, reaper of the night
Fog slayer, bringer of the light
Save me from the darkness, deliver me from death
Dispel my forlorn fears, your name my final breath

As twilight falls swift around me, the demons dance in ancient rite
They seek an endless starry sea, they seek to bind the light!
A lunar pact from ancient times revealed, a god whose light is Sol concealed
The wrath of an ancient one Selene, disturbs the slumber of the day serene

There is but one so far away who remains the vassal of the day
They tie her hands and bind her still, a maiden's life, the satan's will
They cut her tongue of nightingale, becking brimstone from the depths of hell
And though her words have turned to blood, her thoughts have turned to a raging flood:

Dawnkeeper, reaper of the night
Fog slayer, bringer of the light
Save me from the darkness, deliver me from death
Dispel my forlorn fears, your name my final breath

The seals are set, the bindings done, bewitching spells enchant the sun
No mornings shall it rise to give a purpose to our eyes
The gates of hell let loose, the hang├ęd man, a severed noose
Autumn births the fimbulveter, an endless war without a shelter

And like lost children always do, forsake our gods in search of new
Aegis left betwixt the dust, Caladbolg has turned to rust
A flash of steel drives in her chest, her eyes are wide, one last request
And Skuld returns from the brink of time to shed soft rays that melt the rime

Dawnkeeper, reaper of the night
Fog slayer, bringer of the light
Save me from the darkness, deliver me from death
Dispel my forlorn fears, your name my final breath

No more can the sun be be bound than can the tide be turned by the will alone
Heed the sages of the olden days, their dreams have yet to be realized
Strive to keep a mind like the dawn itself, ever permeable, never permanent
Lest our generation be known as the one, who ever tried to bind the sun
