This is something that I've always been pretty amused with. (:

"I'm not sure how I'm supposed to live my life now. Now that you told me, and all…"

"Why's that?"

"I feel like the book '1984' is real and Big Brother is constantly watching me."

"Well, technically, it's not really you doing anything anyway. He knows what you're gonna do before you do it."

"That's my point. What ever happened to free will and power?"

"That's dead to us. We're figments of someone else's imagination."

"Then what would a figment of our imagination be?"

"Yeah. You see, we're not even really having this conversation."

"Oh, but we are."

"No, we're not. Not in the real world, anyway."

"How would we know of the real world if we weren't in it, huh? Explain that."

"I thought that would obvious. The author wants us to."

He heaves a sigh. "Just watch, and don't speak." He turns around to another character. "Hey, you!"

"You talkin' to me?"

Geez, it's one of those. "I am. Lemme ask you a question…"

"Sure, whatever."

"Where are we?"

"Is that a joke or something?"

"Not at all."

"I'm not answering that."

"Why's that?"

"Don't talk to me anymore." He walks away hastily.

"You see? He doesn't know," he says to the other, previously mentioned, character.

This causes said character to roll his eyes.

"You need more proof? Fine."

The characters then find themselves on a big isolated beach.

"Hey, you again!" They don't have names, exactly. That tends to get confusing.

"I thought I told you not to talk to me anymore, buddy. Seriously. Back off."

"No, I'll be very quick! Where are we now?"

"On a beach, obviously. Are you stupid or somethin'?"

"No, no. Just conducting an experiment. You can go now."

Character B, we'll call him, then purses his lips. "How come you know and I don't?"

Character A rolls his eyes. "It's in the fine print. Didn't you see?": Character A knows all.

Now that is why I can't write unhappy endings. Those poor characters...

Hahah, so, please!
