A/N: Warning. This is the last chapter:(

"Oh no! My hair!" Katherine squeaked as she looked at herself in the mirror. "It's out of place."

One of the ladies-in-waiting rushed up to her and started to fix it. I rolled my eyes and turned back to Angela who had just changed into her dress. I smiled. "You look lovely." I told her.

"Not as good as you," she said and laughed, but her look turned serious. "Are you okay?" she asked me.

"What are you talking about?" I made my hands busy fixing my hair.

"Come on, Cate. You know I know about you and—"

I glared at her before she could finish her sentence. "I'd rather not talk about it. That part of my life is over." I reached over and helped her tie up a part of her dress.

"You can't just forget about it," she said.

"I have to," I mumbled and Angela reached over and patted my back.

"Cate!" Katherine called me over. "How do I look?"

"Like a princess," I replied. She really looked like a giant cake, but she probably didn't want to hear that.

"Well I better; I am a princess after all." She whirled around. "I'm getting married," she sang. "And soon I will rule over Marynor and Noran."

God help us all, I thought to myself.

Suddenly the door to the room opened.

"It's time!" Katherine cried out excitedly.

It was a guard. "Katherine, if you would come with me. You are wanted."

Katherine looked confused as she left us in the room.

The ladies looked around and started to gossip. Angela turned to me. "What do you suppose is going on?" she asked.

"She probably needs more flowers or something," I stated. "It's nothing."

Apparently it was something, for Katherine stormed back into the room, tears pouring down her face. She headed straight towards me.

My eyes widened.

"What?" I asked confused.

"How could you?" she screeched.

Lord Edgar entered the room and went over to his daughter. "If all of you ladies could leave."

I gladly followed orders. As I left I caught a little bit of Edgar and Katherine's conversation.

"I just want you to be happy, Katherine," Edgar said almost pleadingly.

"But I will be happy!" she screeched.

"Not with someone who doesn't love you."

I didn't hear her response, because everyone rushed up to me and bombarded me with questions. I didn't know anything, so that's exactly what I told them. They soon stopped their pestering, seeing that it was irritating me. What were Edgar and Katherine talking about? Could it be—no that was impossible…

"You can tell me what's happening," Angela broke in to my thoughts.

"I don't know, Angela. I have no idea what's going on. Please, just leave me alone."

She did so, but soon I wished that she was still with me. I walked out of the keep and saw that practically the whole city was crowded around the church. I shook my head and I made my way around the keep and down to the cherry blossom tree, hoping that it would bring some peace to my mind. What was going on?

As I got closer I noticed that another form stood under it. Jed was pacing next to it, and I stopped in my tracks. He looked up at me and froze. After a while, I had had enough and I stormed up to him. "What is going on?" I asked him.

He reached out and grabbed my hand. "I've made my decision."

"What? No—but, you can't. You have to marry Katherine." I said, taken aback by his statement.

Jed smiled.

I looked up at him confused. "Why are you smiling?"

"Because you're wrong."

"What? No. You have to do this; you have to save our cities!"

Jed shook his head smugly.

"You can't just—"

Jed leaned down, his face close to mine. "Shut up," he said softly.

"But you have to bring peace to—"

"I will."

"But you have to marry Ka—"

He put a finger to my lips. "That's where you're wrong."

He leaned closer and kissed me. "You have forgotten that you too are a daughter of Noran."

I beamed and threw myself into his arms.
