I went into the girl's bathroom to calm myself down. Then, I realized something. I had Mr. Gryphon for my next class, the last class of the day. I started hyperventilating. There was no way in HELL that I was going back into that classroom! No way!

So, I had a choice to make. I could either go to class and suck it up, (I don't think so!) or cut class. Neither choice really appealed to me, but I DID NOT want to go back into that classroom.

So, I cut. I mean, what would you have done! My teacher wanted to now what was WRONG with me. No teacher ever wants to know that! Plus the way he got so bipolar scared the crap out of me!

It was actually very easy to cut class. All I did was listen for the bell to ring, and then wait it out in a bathroom stall.

When I thought just about everyone was gone, I left the bathroom. To my surprise, and dismay, Kayci was just outside, waiting for me. And boy, did she look mad.

Arms crossed over her chest, she pushed me back into the bathroom. Uh-oh, when Kayci gets physical, you KNOW you're in trouble .

"What do you think you're doing?!" she screamed at me.

"Lower your voice, Kayci, unless you want the whole school to know we're in here!" I whispered.

"NO! What are you doing in here Lumina?!" she questioned.

"I, um,"

"Maybe, CUTTING CLASS?!"

I was quiet for a bit, then, realized something. "Hey, what are you in here for!"

"I asked to go to the bathroom when I realized you weren't in class!"

Damn! She had me!

When I didn't say anything, she continued. "Why?"

I looked at her, and sighed, "It's hard to explain. When I went to see him, he just…"

She waited expectantly, but I didn't know how to continue. He just… what? Even I wasn't sure. My eyes fell to the floor. Kayci took my hand.

"Come on, Lun, let's get back to class."

I wanted to pull away so badly, but without an explanation, I couldn't. So, I just let her pull me back to class.

We entered the classroom, and everything got silent. Mr. Gryphon looked at us and said, "I was just about to send someone looking for you, Kayci. Glad, you're okay. And, you picked up Ms. O'Malley on the way!" (That's me, by the way). We locked eyes until he finally went back to his lesson when we sat. I didn't look up for the rest of class.

As soon as the bell rang, I was up from my desk and out the door. I didn't even wait for the bus, because I wanted to get home NOW! So, I ran the whole five blocks to my house.

I was SO out of breath when I got there. I went straight to the kitchen and started looking for something to eat. My favorite after-school snack was a snack-sized bag of movie butter popcorn. I ate it nearly everyday, so we stayed stacked.

I went straight to the pantry and grabbed where the popcorn usually was. I was shocked when my hand touched nothing. I looked and there was nothing there! We always stayed stacked on this popcorn!

"Mom, we're out of popcorn!" I called as I made my way to the fridge for a coke. I was kind of surprised when she didn't answer.

"Mom!" I called a little louder, still nothing. I figured she must have been in her study.

When I got there, it was a MESS, with my mom sitting in the middle of everything.

"Mom…are you okay?" I asked, since she is the kind of person to keep EVERYTHING in order.

"I'm onto it Luna! I'm onto it!"

"Onto what, Mom?"

"Discovering them…" was all she said before she sent me out. Well, really, I sent myself out. I don't get involved with her and 'them'. So, I went into the kitchen and pulled out a back-up snack, Golden Oreos and milk.

I took them up to my room to start my homework. When I got most of it done, I logged into my computer. Kayci was on AIM.

sun&moon: hey girly!

kisskay: hey

kisskay: what was up at school today?

sun&moon: …long story

kisskay: well, I gotta do homework. I'm gonna call you later about it

sun&moon: k

kisskay is offline.

Great, now what do I do? Just then, my computer dinged a message.

get-r-done: Lumina?

sun&moon: yea?

sun&moon: who is this?

get-r-done: it's Braydon

What the hell is up with the world today?! Braydon never talks to me at school, let alone on AIM.

get-r-done: I was just wonder wat was up with u today?

sun&moon: what on God's green earth would make me tell you what was up with me today?!

Gosh, I sounded like such a bitch, but seriously! I don't even plan on telling Kayci what was wrong with me today, why would I tell Braydon?!

sun&moon: …sorry, it's been a REALLY weird day…

get-r-done: …bout to say,

sun&moon: lol

sun&moon: why are you talking to me Braydon?

I sat there for a few minutes, waiting for him to reply. I was just about to log out when my computer dinged a message.

get-r-done: just wanted to know why you looked so frickin scared when u bumped into me

sun&moon: …long story…

get-r-done: k, well, see ya school I guess

get-r-done is offline.

Okay, well, I've had enough of the computer today. I logged off, too.

I went downstairs, hoping to find that dinner was ready, but to my dismay, it wasn't.

"Mom!" I called again, "What are we doing for supper?" I made my way to her study. I was a little surprised to see that she wasn't there.

I yelled for her, "Mom?!" I was just about to walk out when something caught my eye. I looked down and realized that it was a key. Nothing strange about it, just a normal key on a necklace, but that was the strange thing about it. You could almost never find something as normal as a key laying around in this house, let alone my mom's study.

So, I took it. I'd just put the key around my neck when I heard a knock at the door. I went to open it and screamed.
