Chapter I

"Oh my god, Sarah, this car is so awesome!" Jamie shouted over the blaring music. Sarah had black curly hair, chocolate-brown eyes, full lips, high cheekbones and very tan skin. Jamie had dirty blonde hair pulled back in a loose pony tail, light blue eyes, thin lips, and lightly tanned skin. These two friends were almost complete opposites. But, they have been friends since sixth grade. Now, it was the summer before their senior year of high school, and for Sarah's sweet sixteen her parents bought her a silver convertible.

"I know," Sarah said. "I'm really surprised that my 'rents got me this car!"

"Yay! Riot is coming on, turn it up!" Jamie reached over and turned up the volume on the stereo.

"LET'S START A RIOT, A RIOT! LET'S START A RIOT!" The friend's sang at the top of their lungs. After the song was over they started laughing.

"Oh my god,Sarah! LOOK OUT!" Sarah swerved out of the way of a ford truck.

"That was close!" Sarah said.

"I know!" Sarah turned to Jamie "We could have died back there, and look we would have been sent right off the edge of this hill!"

"Hey, Sarah, you don't have your seat belt on!"

"Oh, I know, it's too uncomfortable!"

"Sarah, buckle up!" Sarah took her hands off the wheel to get buckled up.

"SARAH!" The convertible flew off the road and toppled down the hill, into the woods. Witnesses who were there watching this ran to the hill and looked down only to see a jumbled mess of metal and one girl pulling herself out of the car screaming. It was Jamie, no sign of Sarah. A man in a plaid jacket ran down the hill to help Jamie up. Another woman pulled out her cell phone and called 911. The ambulances arrived about 5 minutes later, police blocked off the road. Two police men found Sarah, she had two broken legs, a broken wrist, and her skull was smashed in, she was still alive, but in a coma. Sarah and Jamie were the only victims so far, but trouble was yet to come.
