A/N: Okay so I have a new story out! Yay, so I'm quite excited about this one :D Tell me what you think!
CURSED
Summary: There's something odd about the new kids at school, especially the guy who's licking me and telling me not to resist. And what's up with my best friend and her brother...
Chapter 1 – Surprises
"Come on! You know you want to watch it!" My best friend whined.
"Noooo, we need to find something else to watch. Seriously, we've watched Cursed at least three times already! There are other movies out there." I replied, lazing on the sofa.
"Okay, but does Milo Ventimiglia play in them? Or that other hot guy? I don't think so." She shot me a venomous look from her position on the floor, taking a break from looking at DVDs.
"Well, there's plenty of other movies with hot guys in them..." I suggested. Anything not to have to watch Cursed again.
She sighed in resignation, "Fine, how about ... She's The Man?"
I glanced at the DVD box in her hand, "As long as you promise not to cry again. Really Amber, it's supposed to be a funny movie."
Amber glared at me, "Well sorry for not being a robot like you, Cat!"
"Psh, I do too have feelings," I threw a pillow at her, laughing.
She sat down next to me on the sofa, and we pulled a blanket over our legs.
"Ugh, I can't believe school is starting again next week. Summer went by way too fast."
I shrugged my shoulders, "Yeah, but at least it's our last year. And then we can ditch this place."
"Victoria Falls isn't that bad to live in...we've got a mall at least. And the college is close by. Plus, how could you forget the ice hockey team. Now if only they practiced shirtless..."
I stared at my best friend, and rolled my eyes at her fantasies, "As if your brother would ever let one of the guys get close to you."
"Aiden's not that bad, these days I'm allowed to talk to the rest of the team!" She flipped her long black hair, and batted her hazel eyes at me, "After all, how could he resist his darling little sister?"
"Easily," A deep voice interrupted us.
Amber and I turned around to face the intruder, Aiden.
"Looking good as always Kitty," He said, smirking.
I glared at him and mentally reviewed myself. My blond hair was tied up in a ponytail, no make up on, wearing my glasses instead of contacts for once, and a black shirt to sleep in. Nothing special. Asshole was always trying to irritate me.
He twirled his car keys around his index finger and walked out of the living room, whistling.
I turned back around to face the television, only to find the movie still paused and Amber staring at me with a grin on her face.
"Oh. My. God. You so like him!" She squealed.
I snorted, "As if. He's the last guy I'd fall for."
"..."
I squirmed at her intense look, "Okay, so maybe he's slightly attractive..." That's an understatement, he was more than slightly attractive. He was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Midnight black hair, with blue highlights styled long in the front and short with spikes in the back. That was some sexy hair. And his tall, toned body from playing hockey, and working out...
"Catherine!"
"Huh?" I snapped out of my musings, "What did you say?"
Amber smiled at me, "Nothing, you just proved my point."
I stuck my tongue out at her, "Whatever, let's just watch the movie."
All of a sudden the space in between Amber and me dipped down as someone climbed over the back of the sofa to sit down there. I turned to see Aiden's golden eyes staring at me.
Amber started shouting at someone else who was changing the DVD, and I broke eye contact with him. The other person was Aiden's best friend and next door neighbor, Seth.
Seth is the complete opposite of Aiden, where Aiden is gloomy, Seth is like a ray of sunshine. He is always happy and full of energy, a bit like a puppy actually. His blonde hair is cropped short with little spikes gelled in it. But they're somehow still really close, and they both attend the local college where they are on the same ice hockey team.
"Look Seth, we don't want to watch a horror movie, we want to watch She's The Man, okay? Now go away." Amber told him, shooing him away from the television.
"Come on Ambs," He pleaded, "Cat doesn't mind."
I looked at him in surprise, "I don't?" Honestly I couldn't care less.
"She doesn't mind," Aiden replied for me. I elbowed him in the side but he didn't react. He does not have the right to answer for me, even if he looks so good sitting there. Ah, must get away from him.
"Actually, I think Ambs and I are gonna go to her room now, we can watch the movie there."
Amber jerked around to look at me in horror, "No, no, it's fine. We can watch whatever you guys want."
My shoulders shook as I was silently laughing at her expression. I leaned over Aiden's lap to whisper in her ear, "Yeah, wouldn't want to leave lover boy over there, would you now."
Aiden pushed me back to my side of the sofa before Amber could retaliate by hitting me. She hits hard. I stood up and grabbed the blanket which had fallen to the floor, "Do you mind?" I asked Aiden.
He looked at me confused for a second, before realizing that I wanted him to move.
"What, you don't want to sit next to me? Afraid you'll jump me?" He asked, smirking at me.
Amber laughed at me, being the awesome friend that she is, and Seth joined her. I ignored the traitors, and sat down in the same seat.
As Seth maneuvered the menu screen, I saw that we were watching The Village. This is what they called a horror movie?
"Guys...this isn't a horror movie, it's more like a romance. You do realize that, right?"
Seth and Aiden glared at me, "Shut up Kitty."
Ten minutes into the movie Amber was sniffling, I was yawning and the guys were making fun of everything in the movie. At 20 minutes into the movie I shifted my legs onto Aiden's lap and rested against the arm lean, ready to go to sleep out of sheer boredom.
"...Come on Aid, just carry her to my room."
"Why can't we just wake her up?"
Amber huffed, "You're never going to get a permanent girlfriend if you act like that"
"Like what?"
I opened my eyes after the siblings' little exchange, "You could wake the dead with your voices."
"See? It's easy to wake her up."
"Oh go away already," I replied.
"I live here,"
"Go spend the night at Seth's place then."
Aiden sneered at me, "Fine, see you bright and early tomorrow morning then."
Amber and I started giggling as soon as Aiden and Seth left the house, "Is it me or was your brother a bit pissy?"
"Yeah, just a bit,"
"Whatever, at least we're rid of him. Which means I can ask you about your little crush on Seth of all guys!"
Amber blushed, "I don't know what you're talking about...there's nothing going on between us."
"Bet you wish there was though."
"Ugh, so maybe I do, but Aiden would never let me date Seth, or any of his friends."
"What if we distract Aiden somehow so that you can spend some time alone with Seth. And then Seth will discover how much he loves you, and then..." I paused, "Ok, so maybe my plan needs a bit more work,"
I glared at my so-called friend who was laughing her ass off at me, "Well, ex-cuse me for trying!"
"No, no," Amber said, trying to breathe normally, "Nice try though, really."
"Aha!" She exclaimed, "I have the perfect idea!"
I nodded patiently, motioning for her to continue, "Ok, so what you have to do is come over dressed really skimpily, and then I'll lock you in Aiden's room, where you two can... What? Don't give me that look!"
I patted her head, "Ambs, as much as I love you, sometimes I have to wonder about your sanity."
"Yeah yeah, you too. Let's go eat some ice cream!" We got up from our seat on the sofa and headed into the kitchen, where we grabbed some Cookie Dough, which is only the best ice cream ever. We then headed back into the living room.
"Watch another movie?" I asked.
"Meh, sure. Pirates of the Caribbean?"
I rolled my eyes at her choice, "Sure,"
When I woke up it was still dark, and I felt something wet dripping onto my thigh. I glanced down to see my ice cream had melted and fallen over. I sighed and rolled my neck, trying to get rid of the crick. That's the bad thing about falling asleep on a sofa.
Glancing at my phone I saw it was five thirty in the morning. Amber was still sleeping. I grabbed our bowls of ice cream and brought them into the kitchen, where I wiped the ice off of my leg too.
"Argh, stupid sticky ice cream," I muttered. Deciding to take a shower, I headed upstairs to Amber's room. I grabbed a towel and walked back across the hall to the bathroom. Yes, I know I'm weird for taking a shower before the sun even rises during my vacation. But sticky ice cream is just... so annoying. And no matter how often you wipe it away, the stickiness stays! So, yeah, just take a shower to get rid of it, once and for all!
After a nice 20 minute long shower I toweled myself dry, and wrapping the towel around myself walked back to Amber's room. Unfortunately someone else had the same idea, and walked into me. I, being the smaller person at 5'5'', got knocked over.
"God damn it," I heard a voice swear. "Why aren't you sleeping? It's six in the morning. Normal people are still asleep." He reached down and grabbed my hand, pulling me up.
I squinted up at Aiden's 6'4'' frame, "Well sorry for being abnormal. And, er, you can let go of my hand now."
"What?"
"You're still holding onto my hand." I pointed at said extremities.
"Just making sure you're not going to fall over again." He muttered, letting go of my hand.
"Even though you're the reason I fell down in the first place? Speaking of which, what are you doing here?"
"You seem to keep forgetting that I live here..."
I made an impatient noise, "Very funny, you know what I mean."
He chuckled, "Yes, I do. But I don't have to tell you."
Watching Aiden's eyes travel over my body, I suddenly realized I was naked underneath my towel.
"Well, I think it's time I got dressed!" I edged closer to Amber's room, and was about to open the door when Aiden grabbed my hand (again) and twirled me around.
"I think I prefer you like this, actually." He said, before kissing me passionately.
He was gone before I could react, and I was left clutching the door handle. But the feeling of his lips on mine was burned into my mind.
I dreamily made my way into Amber's room and managed to get dressed properly somehow. I mean, it's not everyday that some smoking hot guy kisses you. Well, at least not in my life. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
I skipped back downstairs after locating my contacts and putting them in. Don't want to run around blind. Although I do that sometimes. I forget to put my contacts in, and then wonder why everything is blurry. Thankfully no one has seen me do that yet.
I silently made my way into the living room where Amber was still sleeping, but before I could pounce on her, Seth poured a jug of cold water over her face. And when I say cold, I mean there were pieces of ice in it too.
"Ahhh! Seth, you asshole!" She yelled, and got up to chase him.
I spied Aiden leaning against a wall, his shoulders shaking with laughter at watching Amber and Seth run around the living room shouting insults at each other.
After a further 10 minutes I decided to intervene. "Amberrrrr! Come on, go get dressed so we can go already!"
Amber growled at Seth before running upstairs. Of course that left me alone with the guys. Seth's eyes lit up, "Where are you going?"
I grinned, "Wouldn't you like to know."
"They're going to the mall obviously," Aiden told Seth.
I frowned, "How do you know?"
He shook his head, "Let's see...where else would two 17 year old girls go during their final days of vacation. I wonder. Not to mention, there's nothing else to do in this town."
Seth looked alarmed, "Dude, you're letting them go there alone?"
"Why wouldn't he let us go alone?" I challenged.
"Because, there's guys there..."
"Okay, and your point is what, exactly?"
Seth turned to Aiden, "You know, I've needed to go to the mall for a while now,"
Aiden rolled his eyes, "Fine,"
I frowned, "As long as you stay away from us."
Amber came bounding back down the stairs, looking as if she'd spent the past hour getting ready instead of a couple of minutes.
"Okay, seriously, tell me how you manage to look so perfect."
She just giggled, "Haven't you looked in a mirror? You're so much prettier than me!"
I gave her a disbelieving look, "Yeah, right."
"Okay," Aiden spoke up, "Let's go before you start comparing bra sizes. There's some things I don't need to know about my sister."
Amber's smile widened, "You're coming with?"
He didn't reply, just walked towards the front door with Seth. We followed behind, "How did you manage to get him to come with?"
"I didn't say anything, Seth wanted to come."
"No way, Aiden would never voluntarily go to the mall with us."
I shrugged, "Well, I don't know what it was then."
Amber and I got in the back of the black Ford Explorer, which Aiden got for his 18th birthday two years ago.
Relaxing into my seat I couldn't help but think of the kiss again. Apparently it didn't mean anything to Aiden, since he acted like he'd never kissed me. Should I tell Amber? One part of me wanted to tell her, but another part wanted to keep it to myself.
With a sudden jerk the car came to a stop, and I realized that we had already arrived at the mall, which was creatively named Courtyard Center for some reason. Everyone just calls it Court for short though.
As we wandered in I looked around for some other friends. Since Jacksonville is such a small place, everyone knows everyone else. Or close enough to that at least.
Stepping inside the cool, air conditioned building I shivered a bit. Glancing around, I saw we entered the food court first.
"Brilliant, let's get some breakfast!" I patted my stomach.
Amber grabbed my arm and pulled me over to a line for steaks.
"Ambs, I don't think I want to eat a steak at eight in the morning."
She gave me a confused look, "But you haven't had anything to eat yet."
"Yeah, but, steak? Seriously? I'll just take a salad."
"Suit yourself," She muttered, turning to order her food. I waited until she was done and ordered myself a caesar salad.
"So," Amber said, turning to me, "Tell me what happened between you and Aiden this morning,"
I gaped at her, "How did you know anything happened?"
She smirked at me, "I'm your best friend, he's my brother. And please, the sexual tension in the car...He kept looking back at you, but you were totally spaced out."
I blushed, "Okay, well, he may have kissed me."
"What, that's it?"
"What else were you expecting?" I asked her after grabbing my salad.
"Well, I dunno, looking at Aiden a hot-and-heavy make-out session which left him wanting more." She made a disgusted face, "Okay, I can't believe I just said that in reference to my brother."
Her steak was finally done and we turned around to face the sea of people all sitting around in the food court.
"Why are there so many people here so early in the morning?" I searched for a sign of Aiden and Seth.
"Yeah, don't they have anything better to do?"
"Okay I can't see your brother anywhere."
"Oh, brilliant! We can ditch them then and find some hot guys!"
"You, my friend, are a genius."
"I know," She replied smugly. "Let's go eat outside, they're not going to think of looking for us outside."
We headed to a terrace with a couple of tables and chairs that were still empty. Picking one close to the street we sat down and started eating. About halfway through my salad, Amber was already done with her food.
"I will never get used to you eating so much so quickly."
"Hah, you just eat really slowly." Okay, that's also true.
I noticed Amber perking up out of the corner of my eye, "Look! Hot guys approaching," She whispered and motioned at a car which was turning into the parking lot.
It was a convertible, but not just any convertible, it was a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. Only one of the sexiest cars...And it was in this really pretty red. Not one of those flashy reds, but more of a dark maroon.
"Come on," Amber said, pulling me up and dragging me along behind her.
"Uh, what are you-, no! Amber, stop, we are not going to harass them!"
She ignored me and continued pulling me over to where the convertible was parked. I was startled out of my silent worship of the car by a deep voice to my right, "Like it?"
I ripped my eyes off of the sexy car, and if I didn't have any pride, I would've jumped this guy straight away. He was a bit stockier than Aiden, but still not short. I'd say around 6'1, but he was definitely more built than Aiden, his muscles strained against his shirt. My eyes finally found their way back to his face, only to see his chocolate eyes glinting. His hair was a dark brown color, and not styled at all, just shaggy. He probably still spent 20 minutes fixing his hair to look like that though.
"Huh?" My vocal cords finally decided to work again. Yay!
He gave me a smug smile, "Never mind," before pushing me against the car and licking me.
