Faye Greene (32), Illinois

Faye Greene can be happy.

When she became paralyzed in a car accident, she sank into a deep depression. She used to love running, racing her daughter Kristen through the park on weekends.

Then came the morning she woke to find herself hovering over the bed, with her foot halfway into the mattress. Her body had gained the ability to become ghostly, although she learned to change back and forth rather quickly.

When Kristen developed the ability to run at superfast speeds, Faye told her daughter about her ability. Having more in common, there were no limits on what they could do together.

Faye can think of no greater joy than being a real mom.
