Three years after first chapter

Bonny slumped into her dresser chair and let out a heavy sigh as she evaluated her reflection with a frown.

Was it her? Maybe something about her? Her hair?

She fingered her unruly locks, tugging the strands with considerable force.

Her teeth, perhaps.

She bared her teeth dejectedly; she knew they weren't the whitest, but bleaching them was out of the question due to her capped tooth.

She sneered at herself through watery eyes.

Of course he didn't want her. Look at her. She was revolting.

He never came down to see her, never replied to her texts or instant messages, always went straight to his laptop or Xbox and ignored her – why? Oh, she knew exactly why. It was because she wasn't interesting. It was because she was a God-awful girlfriend.

She woke him up – granted at 4pm every day – but to be fair to him, he never got to sleep before 6am...but surely that was his fault for gaming so much?

But why should she have to do all the God-damn work in the relationship? She was a surrogate mother both at work and for half her roommates – the last thing she needed was for her boyfriend to consider her a mother too, thanks all the same.

And what was with that reply to her comment of her parents guilt-tripping her to stay at home longer?

"A bit like you, then :)" Were his exact words online.

That had left her stumped for a while. Sure, she had asked him to treat her as a girlfriend rather than someone he can use and ignore straight after, but that wasn't guilt-tripping. That was wanting to be considered equals. That was talking to him like the adults they were supposed to be.

She removed the headband from her hair, tossing it to the side as she pressed her eyelids into the palms of her hands.

She didn't want to give up hope – if Taz had taught her anything, it was to fight for what you wanted.

And damnit, she wanted this to work.

But he was making it so difficult for her to not pack in and call quits.

Maybe she should do as Hanna and Gretch suggested and talk to him about taking a break...maybe it'll put things in perspective for him...

...Or maybe it'll just be a way for him to cut loose without feeling bad...

Ugh. Men.
