With the new year comes old clichés, new cuties, sports, pick-up lines and love affairs. Whether you are staying with that old boy or girl from last year, there may be new prospects. Now is the time to be bold, and step outside of your comfort zone. Look at the people who you would have never even considered. They could be your high school sweet heart. I get confused sometimes about the right things to say, but the wrong things at the wrong times can really show you care. Try moves that will get you noticed in a good way, yet play hard to get. Make your crush chase you, however if they run for too long they will get exhausted and move on.
If you are a guy, here's how to hook that lucky lady. She wants to smile, so make her laugh. Tell her clean jokes. Touch her shoulders and upper back to make her feel secure, but make sure your hand is not too low or she will get the wrong idea. You don't want her to think that she is just an object of lust. Make her feel special and desired. Say thank you and hold open the door for her. It shows that you put her first. It makes a big impression, which also makes her feel respected. It's the little things that count. Do things that she wants to do, but let her know your thoughts as well. Speak up. Let her know you have an opinion. Make a point to get familiar with what she truly cares about. You'll be grateful in the end, even if she has extremely dull taste. Also, let her get familiar with your hobbies and friends. It is a good thing to have some things in your relationship be completely opposite. It makes for great conversation.
Hunkie hotties are around the halls, and I know that the ladies are looking. Well, smile and wave. That flirty eye of yours will really come in handy. Let him know that you are interested and available. Let him chase you. Be mysterious, because if you become an open book, there will be no room for him to really get to know the real you. The challenge of unfolding the mystery won't be fun for anyone, but give something to talk about that not every girl can say or do. Use your sense of humor. It is another side of attractiveness which makes him want to spend time with you. Get him to talk about himself, to show that you care about him and his interests. So don't talk about yourself the whole time. It is okay to brag a little, but don't rub it into his face. Make him feel more masculine by taking an active role in the conversation when he talks. Talk back. You don't want to come off as a boring brick wall or conceited. Most importantly, be yourself so when he comes back for more of you, you won't have anything to hide. Don't be embarrassed to show your colorful side. Hopefully, this year's crush turns into more than a fling, and remember only you can make it a romance.
