She fumbled in her bag and cursed lowly as she found only books and paper. She thought she had placed the umbrella in her bag, and anyway, there only said that there would be a 30% chance of rain…

The rain was pouring harder now, to a point that it shouldn't even be called rain anymore. Maybe it's a typhoon? Tropical storm? Never mind that they were at least twenty miles from the ocean. Not that it really mattered what she called if because in the end she was still waiting under a small awning for it to end.

Then a miracle happened. Or at least what she wished was a miracle.

"Do you want a ride?" Coming from anyone else, it might have been a come-on, ranging anywhere from obscene and unappealing to something that might be fun. From that voice though, the one that she absolutely loved and hated…it came out as a deadpan statement.

She ran to the car, hoping to make it there relatively dryly. Instead, she ran into a miniature waterfall coming out of the building. Typical. Just her luck. By the time she got to the car, she was soaked.

He grinned widely, amused. She wanted to hit him.

"At least you won't get a cold. I heard that idiots can't catch colds."

She huffed and folded her arms, turning to stare out the window.

"Who are you calling an idiot?"

He turned on the heater and tossed her his favorite sweater from the backseat.

"Idiot."
