Yellow

Aya Fujisaki sighed as he leaned heavily against the edge of Yoshi Yuy's bed. Currently, the two boys were lounging in Yoshi's room. Aya ran a hand through his brown hair and peered up at Yoshi through amber eyes. Yoshi was pulling tentively on colored wires, fingering the ends before shoving them into what he hoped was the correct plug on the gaming counsel.

"Hey Yoshi?"

Aya questioned, watching his friend sweep strands of honey locks from his face. A nearly inaudible murmur was his cue to continue.

"What do you think of the color yellow?"

Yoshi blinked up at him with a curious light. His eyebrows raised and attention resting only on Aya.

"Yellow? That's rather random. But then again, you're a random person, I should expect nothing less from you."

The blond teen replied slowly. Dark chocolate eyes clashed with amber. After a moment of silence Yoshi resigned to answering the unusual question.

"Well, I think of summer, being carefree, cheerful and fun.."

Aya nodded thoughtfully, as Yoshi's soft voice trailed off into a whisper. His eyes closed as he slipped onto the bed. Resting his head on Yoshi's light blue pilliow, he draped himself over the bed, he stretched like a lazy, contented cat, feeling perfectly at ease.

"I wish it were still summer."

Aya groaned with a shudder. Just thinking of those mountains of thick, white powder waiting patiently for him back at home, made him shiver.

The bitter winter wind responded by howling long and miserably, it's icy fingers wrapping around the house tightly. No one wished to be outside in this weather, and the wind moaned on about it's lonesomeness.

"Hey Aya. There's one more thing yellow reminds me of."

One amber eye cracked open, the brow raised in question.

"You! You're cheerful and fun yet lazy. And most of all, you hate winter with a passion I haven't seen before! Not to mention your eyes are a hue of yellow."

Aya's lips curved into a smirk as he thought that over.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right, Yoshi."

"So why, exactly, did you ask what I thought of yellow?"

Yoshi questioned. If he knew Aya, which he took pride in saying he did, Aya always had a reason for his fits of randomness. Aya flashed him a cheeky grin, his eyes lighting up mischieviously.

"Oh! Well, you see, I'm getting a new dog soon. I've been having trouble finding a name for him. I figured, since he's a Golden Retriever..."

Yoshi's eyes narrowed as he figured out Aya's thought process. Aya chuckled.

"I was sure I could find him a name through your description of his color. I know I found the perfect name now! All thanks to you!"

"I am going to name him Yellow!"

Yoshi rolled his eyes, turning his attention back to the previously forgotten gaming system.

"Aya, you realize you are the craziest person I have ever met. Right?"

He stated with a tone of dead seriousness.

Aya gave a delighted laugh, his eyes dancing with mirth as he nodded his assent.

"I don't think I can argue with you there, my friend!"
