Hi!! This is my first story that I've posted on here. Review or I won't post any more stories.

In a time where two unusual children were born, Adolf Hitler ruled. He killed witches, anyone thought to be a witch, and Jews. Most people believed him and many innocent lives were ended. The two children came from a Jewish family who was in hiding. If Hitler had ever found them they were sure to die as so many others already have.

The children's names were Jewel and Crystal. They were twins, but had a stronger connection than anyone normal that was a bit different. They could each hear the others every passing thought. They used this power to talk to each other. When one was scared the other would comfort her. When one was sad, the other would try to cheer her up. The best part was that it worked no matter how close or far apart they were. Basically, Jewel could be in Europe and Crystal in Antarctica and they could still hear each other's thoughts.

They told their parents about it and they said, "It's just your imaginations, nothing more." The twins knew that it was real though and, when they had silent conversations telling their parents they were talking telepathically, they got sent away. Both of them cried when their parents told them that they didn't want such strange children.

Do you think that we're really that strange? Strange enough for mom and dad to kick us out? Thought Crystal to Jewel. Maybe, but I don't think we're the only ones out there like this. There has to be more twins out there like us. Jewel thought.

The following day the twins were taken away to an orphanage. Nobody dared come near them. They had all heard the stories of why they were there and witnessed their silent conversations. Rumors quickly spread about them all over the small town. Some said that they were evil and cursed. Others said that they were witches coming to create catastrophe in their village and ought to be killed. Everyone was afraid of Jewel and Crystal and avoided them whenever possible.

One day though, after everyone had left for breakfast, Crystal noticed that one of the girls had not gone. Jewel, get over here! Crystal thought. What is it? Jewel replied. This girl didn't leave yet. Also, her breathing is heavy and wheezy. Crystal answered. Jewel rushed over to check on the girl. Let's take her to the hospital. Jewel instantly stated. They'll think we did this. Crystal pointed out. Don't you think it's worth it? She'll die if we don't take her over to the hospital and if we do and they will kill us, then it will be worth it to sacrifice our lives of rejection for her life which is probably a lot better

than ours. Jewel thought. Crystal sighed before answering. You're right. What's the worst they can do? We're twins!

So Jewel grabbed the girl and cradled her in her arms. She's surprisingly light. Jewel added. They ran down the stairs and everyone gave them strange looks. They must think we killed her. Great. Guess there's no backing out now. Crystal thought. You knew that already. Let's just hurry; we don't know how much longer she has. Jewel replied. Sure, I just would rather keep my life. Crystal retorted. She has more to live for. Jewel thought. Crystal and Jewel continued running towards the hospital all the while hoping that they could make it in time. The girl's breathing got heavier and she struggled more. The twins pushed themselves harder to run faster. Both felt as if they would collapse from exhaustion. All they had to keep them running is the thought that the girl's life was in their hands.

Crystal was gasping deeply while Jewel looked as if she was dieing. Through gasps Jewel told the nurse what happened and handed her the girl. The nurse muttered something that sounded like "murderers" and went to take care of the girl. Jewel and Crystal sat down on the chairs, gasping, while hoping that the girl would make it. Shortly, a group of men came over to them and took them away. I just want to know if she lives before they kill us. Thought Jewel. I know. We basically killed ourselves for this girl and they won't even tell us if she died despite our efforts. Crystal replied.

They took them to an open field where there was a tall piece of wood with a rope tied to another piece of wood that branched out from the top. A loop was at the end of the rope. All of this was on a platform that could be dropped. They were going to hang them! Great! Of all the ways to die! Thought Crystal. If she makes it, won't it be worth it? Jewel replied. That's the big word, if. Crystal angry replied.

The men tied their arms to the pole and while two stayed behind to watch them, the rest went to gather a crowd. A few hours passed and they came back with practically the whole town. One of them untied their hands and put the loop over their heads. Ready Crystal? Jewel asked. No. Crystal replied simply. Well…I know. Just try to be. Jewel thought.

Somebody hushed the crowd and began speaking, "We are gathered her today for the hanging of Crystal and Jewel. These twins, who have been rumored to be witches, have proven these rumors to be true. They murdered Jane Smith by stopping her breathing with one of their evil spells. They felt guilty so they took her to a hospital,

trying to see if a nurse could reverse their deed. We tried, but we were too late to save Jane. Her family and friends have been crying since they heard the news. So, on this second day of February, they will be hung and back down to the devil may they travel. With that, the platform fell and their feet desperately searched for ground. We will always be together. They thought together. After a few minutes they stopped and just swayed and their eyes disappeared behind their skulls. The crowd cheered as what thought to be a threat had disappeared.
