Welcome to The City.

The city didn't have a name, and as far as anyone knew, it never had. When children of the city where very young, they would imagine names for the city. The City of Forever, The City of Metal, The City of Never Ending. But the city had no name.

Jordan trudged past the misplaced Welcome sign; it was past city curfew and the streets where empty. During the day the streets would be bustling and crowded, she never would have found her target. And there would have been casualties. It's just less paperwork she thought as primed her gun. A black-cloaked figure darted through the shadows ahead of her, barley visible. Jordan took off at a sprint towards the figure, her target. Her Gun hummed in her fingers as she drew closer, normally the under-streets were a twisted maze, but here, they dead ended quickly. They raced the streets, the closed pig-metal buildings creating no refuge for the hooded being. Barren streets exposed him, even in the dark. No one can hide in the city. Her heart thudded against her ribs as she twisted the next corner and found herself facing a wall. The dark-cloaked figure stopped and slowly turned to face her as she raised her weapon. His blue eyes caught hers and for a brief moment, the briefest of moments, she faltered. He was young, too young.

She raised her weapon, and fired.

Welcome to The City.
