Light Play

Candle like fingers splay across her face,
Enveloping pink skin, twinkling eyes, a smiling mouth,
Illuminating iridescent glow.

Stretching out as waves across the sun-tanned sands,
They shower and roam over her silhouette,
Hitting her like shooting stars in black night,
Exploding in rapid succession,
Taking turns as they pass from light to dark.

It glazes over her quickly, tenderly,
Like a lover's whisper in the shell of an ear.

Sliding, curving, flowing out of contour's dips,
The contrast blinds the right hand scenery,
Weakly receding from her soft cheekbones,
Shining with light and warmth.

…it's about the light and shadow in a picture of my sister. :)
