My Imaginary Window
by Serina Subterfuge
One window is all I need,
to see the world around me—
To see peace in destruction;
an investigators only dream.
I long for a window so I can see,
how people are when they think they are unseen.
How two-faced and pretentious they can be,
when someone with authority can be seen.
The window is my only source,
that tells the truth about what's real.
My only view of the real world,
my correspondent to what HAS to be seen.
I can stare out the window all day long;
It's my only form of entertainment.
To see things no one else has seen—
Listening to everything in silence.
