I miss the house, the little sylvan house
With zig-zag rows of evergreens in front
A scattered, mossy greenbelt at the back
And wildly unkempt grasses to the sides
I miss the house, the little pretty house
Its greens and browns in forest-fairy hue
The dawn's dew's sparks were magic to my eyes
Aurora's holy colors shone on high
I miss the house, the little cozy house
Its downy bed was big enough for two
Its sturdy walls could never quite hold love
And somehow it was bigger than the world
I miss the house, the little lonely house
I miss that house where once I dreamt of love
