"Get up! Please! Their breaking through the door!" Derrick heard the princesses tinkling voice but it seemed a million miles away. He groaned and opened his eyes. The princess's face filled his vision. He sat up quickly and nearly passed out again. He heard the sound of people battering on the door. He saw the princess staring at him worriedly. He grimaced.
"I'm fine." She didn't look convinced, but she didn't question him again. "Are there any other ways out of here?"
"Only the door." She answered. Derrick frowned. He looked around at the room. The five men were tied up, Derrick smiled. Maybe the Princess was tougher then he thought. He glanced around the small room to look for another way out, he didn't see any. The princess helped him to his feet.
"How did you get in here? Can we get out that way?" She asked. Derricks' head was beginning to clear. He shook his head.
"I don't think I could make it back down, not with you especially." She looked confused. He pointed towards the window. Her face turned from confused to shocked.
"You climbed up the side of the tower!? Are you crazy!?" She squeaked. Derrick stood up and winced.
"I'm not quite sure myself Your Highness. Are you sure there's no other way?" She nodded. Derrick began looking around the room for something to use, a weapon, anything. Thats when it hit him. He sprinted to the window and looked down. He saw the peoples faces staring at him, still shocked. Some people cheered. He hung out of the window and saw what he was looking for. He pulled himself back into the room and grabbed two think quilts and rushed up to the princess.
"Do you trust me?" He asked. The pounding on the door began again. The the princess looked toward the door, and then looked back.
"It doesn't look like I have a choice." She muttered. He nodded and grabbed her arm. He lead her to the other side of the room were there was a grate in the wall. "The laundry drop!? You are crazy! We'll die if we fall that whole way!"
"I don't think so, the bottom curves into the washing pool in the courtyard." The door began to splinter behind them. "Hurry Your Highness, we don't have much time. I'll go in first." The princess turned and spat out.
"If we die in there I'll kill you." Derrick smiled, rapped the quilt around himself and slipped into the drop.
