Long days,

Short Nights,

And nothing but sore arms,

Rumbling stomachs and tired minds.

Mental Breakdowns,

Held back anger and physical takedowns,

And nothing ever to talk about

[Not that you could].

Long hikes,

Short showers,

And having fucked up hair.

But when l look down at my uniform,

I can't help but smile,

I can't help but feel pride.

All the hardship will be worth it,

Once I cross that parade deck,

Once I hike those nine miles,

Once I see my family,

Once I hold that eagle, globe and anchor in my hand.

[Once I'm a Marine]

All of it.

Will be worth it.
