Things that go bump in the night

Hello, Manga555 speaking! This is my first story on here, and I hope it satisfies.

Enjoy!

Thump.

I sat bolt upright in bed, shaking. "Wha-"I was cut off by a loud crashing from downstairs. I swung my feet out of bed, and paused. What would I do if it was a burglar?

Let me explain. My parents were out of town for the week, and I had the house to myself. While that had its perks, it also had downsides. Like, being rather unprotected.

I grabbed up my radio (Which was around the size-and shape-of a basketball) and I cautiously crept out of the room. Of course, with my luck, my stealth only lasted until I reached the top of the stairs, where I tripped, and fell all of the way down them, yelling and just generally making enough noise to wake the dead.

When the stairs were done torturing me, I lay on the ground, exhausted and torn between fear of whatever had been banging around down here, and worry for my radio, which I was afraid might have broken. (I think I'd hit my head a little too much coming down the stairs.)

"Oh! Hello! Who are you?"

I sat up and looked around dazedly. There, standing over me, was the weirdest person I had ever seen.

He wasn't very tall, only about five foot four, with fire truck red hair and horns of the exact same color. He was wearing a sky blue robe that almost reached the ground, and he had a spiked tail the color of his horns and hair.

I screamed and leapt to my feet. He made a noise like a cat that's been stepped on and jumped a foot in the air. I flicked the light on and he covered his eyes.

Wasting no time, I ran towards him and bowled him over, tying him arms up with the cord of my radio. (I hadn't let go of it all this time.) I got another shock as I discovered that he had two large, scaly wings.

He wailed. "Please don't hurt me! I didn't take anything; I don't think anything's broken! Please let me go, I promise not to hurt anything! I'm just lost!"

He twisted his head around to look at me, and I felt a stab of pity. He had a sweet face and his eyes, although red, looked very innocent. He had a high tenor voice, and he sounded so lost…

I untied his hands. "Alright, get up." I got off of him and pulled him to his feet. "Now, why are you in my house? And what exactly are you?"

"I'm a dragon demon, and I don't know how I got here." He said sadly. "I was transporting on my own for the first time, and I ended up here."

"Eh?" I asked. "Transporting?" The image of an airplane popped into my head.

"You know… Being one place, and then concentrating, and being in another place?"

"I think you'd better start a little closer to the beginning. Like, what is a dragon demon?"

He looked at me in apparent confusion. "It's just a certain variety of demon. You know, like a cat demon, or a fish demon, or a wolf demon… Speaking of which, what kind of demon are you? You don't seem to have a tail or fur or anything."

I shook my head. "I'm not any kind of demon. I'm a human being."

He stared at me, eyes wide. "Wow! But, that's not possible! Human's went extinct ages ago!"

For a moment, I stared. Then, I shook myself. "I am going to eat. Then, we talk."

I pulled him into the kitchen.
