Dreamscape
She paced
these cracked sidewalks
With ultra-violet wisps of hair
Swirling
and twisting across her eyes
In the chilling winter air.
Her
gaze was fixed on the passing lines
Of these old city's streets
like glue.
Her mind bounced from one thought to another,
But
seemed to be stuck on you.
She had no destination, no fate,
No
company to keep her warm.
And yet she continued walking
along
Through this frigid winter storm.
The sounds of pink and
orange rain
Splashed on the concrete like tears she never
shed.
The whipping wind whispered yellow secrets;
The words she
never said.
Holding herself tightly as she could,
To the end of
the earth she planned to stray,
Until a loving stranger's hand
lifted her gaze
On a brisk December day.
She gazed long into
his eyes,
Dazzled by their color, so unlike the dismal
ground.
She became entranced
In green and orange starbursts of
light until she found
Herself walking hand in hand with this
man
Away from clouds to a clear city view.
He turned her to
face him and gently whispered,
"I have searched for you."
His
words were the colors of his eyes,
Like the rainbow of a perfect
harmony,
And a silver tear stained her cheek
When she knew
forever she could see
The colors of this world she had missed
With
her gaze to the cracked grey street.
A smile grew wide upon her
face,
Her long journey now complete.
He grinned at her and
chuckled,
His laughter golden sparkles from his smile.
She
closed her eyes gently, content
That her travels were worthwhile.
He held her as close as he could,
Their travels now ended,
done.
And they kissed in a burst of color
As grey and
multi-colored hearts
Found the warmth of the sun.
