Can you see me?

I'm standing right in front of you,

Raw and bare,

Exposing all my flaws.

Can you feel me?

My skin is rough

Like sand paper

From trying to fend off the blows.

Can you hear me?

I'm screaming your name.

My voice is hoarse and uneven,

But it's still there.

Can you smell me?

I reek of heartbreak

That's been left out in the sun

For far too long.

Can you taste me?

My flavor has diminished.

My lips are dry and cracked,

The fervor for life has been sucked from them.

The answer is no.

You don't see me

Feel me

Hear me

Smell me

Taste me
