Jason stared uncomfortably at the oncoming traffic. Oh what one swerve of the wheel could do... He shook his head; he had a family to take care of. His wife Molly couldn't take care of the kids by herself, and his dad, alone in an unfamiliar bed... He shook his head again; that wasn't a subject worth debating. He knew he needed to visit him; he just wasn't ready yet. Blue and red lights flashed in his rear view mirror.
"Damn it!" he shouted, pounding the steering wheel with his hands. When he pulled over, the cop didn't take his time walking to his window. "How fast was I going officer?" he asked, pulling out his wallet.
"What? No, that's not what this is about." he snapped.
"What is it officer?" he didn't remember his tail light being out...
"It's your wife Sir."
"Molly! Is she okay?" he panicked.
"I'm not sure. I'll give you a police escort to the hospital." he replied, heading back to his car. The sirens blared as he sped off in front of him. Today was an awful day.
