Another homework assignment. It sort of needs a title, so if you have one, message me or review.
If you ask me, which no one ever does,
There's something suspicious about poets.
Generally, I don't like them because
They seem to only be full hypocrites.
What is the fun of following the rules?
Poetry is personal expression.
Poems need discipline in all the schools.
Break rules, or follow, is my question.
William B. Yeats, I like what he does write
And Cummings, McKay, Hughes, and Brodsky, too.
Yeats knows what it is to love, die, and fight,
If even his faeries might not be true.
And so if it sounds like Yeats is betrayed,
I'm only doing this to get the grade.
