News
The next day was Saturday. Which meant I could sleep in as long as I needed… but this Saturday was a little bit different. My phone rang at 9 a.m. in the morning.
"Hello?" I said a bit groggily.
"Take a look at the morning news, Ray…" someone sighed.
"Demitri?" I said as started to walk towards the TV. I flipped it to the news channel.
"And here is the exclusive that we promised." the news reporter smiled. "The head of the big hotel company, Demitri." the reporter said enthusiastically. "He is apparently next to a kindergarten day care at the lake with another girl." the reporter kept on smiling her fake and arrogant smile. "And here is another picture of them kissing!" she squealed. "A picture was taken of the girl a few moments later. Her name is apparently. Rachel Brink and goes to Princeton along with Mr. Demitri." the reporter smiled widely.
I shut the TV off.
"Oh, my god… Demitri… I'm so sorry…" I stuttered an apology.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I'm not helping your life get any more private…" I sighed. "God, are your parents mad?"
"I didn't see them yet." he sighed. "They like you, but still they'll probably yell at me because it's not 'good for the company.'" he mocked his parents' voice. "Don't worry about me, Ray… I'm more worried about what people are going to do to you. They know your name, your college, and your picture."
"People already know we're dating…" I reminded.
"I know, but now the whole world who watches the news will know." Demitri said worriedly. "I'm worried someone's going to kidnap you or something."
I started to laugh. "You have a wonderful imagination, Demitri. Don't worry about me, okay?"
"Alright, Ray…" then he sighed again. "Hey, Ray."
"Hmm?"
"Can I pick you up a little later?"
"Demitri!" I scolded.
"What?"
"We just got on the morning news. Your parents are probably going to hate me and scold you. But you still want to pick me up and hang out!?" I explained. "Has the stress from school and the Hotel business driven you insane?"
"Nope. My parents went to New York for a meeting about the hotel." he chuckled. "And more importantly, I just hang out with the girl I love no matter what."
I just smiled to myself… I couldn't say anything to that.
"Fine, fine…" I sighed with happiness.
"Great." he laughed. "I'll pick you up at your house around 4… and go out for dinner."
"Sounds perfect." I smiled… Somehow I just have a feeling that we'll just get into more trouble going out like this. But… I can't turn down dinner with him… turning down dinner with Demitri is like looking left while looking right.
"Alright, then. See you in a few hours, Ray."
"Mnm…" I agreed.
"Oh yeah, Ray… one more thing."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
I smiled again, "Love you, too, Demitri…"
