The lunch lady is such a bitch. She keeps serving potatoes for breakfast. I'll end up looking like her if she keeps feeding me this shit. I grunted and took my plate to the table where my friends were at. I sat down and poked my potatoes. It was lumpy and gross.

"You know the potatoes are gonna come alive and eat you?" asked Jason. I gave him a look and he burst out laughing. Haylie giggled and looked at me. I smiled and looked around the room for Ryan. I spotted him sitting next to Angelica and some other guys. They were all talking and what not but Ryan was busy searching the room. His eyes landed on me and he smiled. I blushed and looked back at Haylie who noticed the whole exchange.

"Just go have sex with him," she said laughing. I poked her playfully and blushed some more.

Later on, I went to the music cabin with Haylie and we started setting up for today's session. Ryan came in a few minutes later and put his stuff in the corner next to the desk and walked over to help us. I looked up and smiled. "Had a good breakfast?" I asked.

"Potatoes are delicious first thing in the morning," he replied with a grin. I giggled.

"Eating the lunch lady would be a lot yummier than those potatoes. She is one herself," Haylie commented. Ryan and I laughed.

"Nah, I think Alex would be even yummier," Ryan said walking over and picking me up pretending to eat me. I laughed and tried to push him off but he held on to me and kissed my cheek before putting me down. His arms stayed where they were, pulling me against him. Haylie pretended to be doing something else.

"Aren't we tad bit close?" I asked him.

"Tad?" he asked. "I'd rather be closer."

I laughed. "You're still the same pervert you were one year ago."

"It's my thing though. It's my charm." He finally let me go because the kids started to come in. I wanted him to hold me longer. Fucking kids.

Tonight was another bonfire and we were planning on eating smores and singing songs. Everyone was gathered around talking with each other and just having a good time. Haylie had her arms around me and I cuddled up to her. We were lesbians, did you hear?

I took a big bite of my s'more and salivated because it was so good. Ryan came over and sat next to me. Real nice time to walk over and sit next to me, Ryan. But I looked at him and smiled.

S'mores, music and Ryan are my favorite things. "Hi."

"Hey," he said. He smiled at me.

"What's up?"

"Nothing, you?"

"Nothing."

"Cool." It got silent after that and I don't blame him. Haylie eventually let me go after she saw Ryan and pretended to pig out. But it got chilly so I wrapped my arms around myself and sat there. "Can I hug you to keep myself warm?" he asked. He was sitting there in shorts and a wifebeater. I smiled and nodded.

"You would be cold wearing that and trying to show your body off," I laughed. I got closer to him and his arms enclosed my body. I slowly rested my head against him and his hands made their way to mine and he intertwined them. It felt good.

"Hello campers and counselors," said Joe standing up at the podium. "Welcome to the second bonfire of the summer as opposed to many more to come. I'd like for you to welcome our first act of the night. Ryan Harper"! The girls cheered and I rolled my eyes but then looked to see everyone was looking at us all cuddled up. I let go and slid over to Haylie. He smiled at me and walked up to Joe. He took a guitar and sat down on the stool.

"The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting. Could it be that we had been this way before? I know you don't think that I am trying. I know you're wearing thin down to the core, but hold your breath. Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you over again. Don't make me change my or I won't live to see another, I swear it's true. Because a girl like you is impossible to find. You're impossible to find."

I felt my breath come short and gasped a little. "This is not what I intended," Ryan kept singing.

"I always swore to you I'd never fall apart. And you always thought that I was stronger, I may have failed but I have loved you from the start." I couldn't listen to this but I also couldn't just get up and leave. Everyone would stare. Haylie held me close and I listened as he sang the rest of what happens to be one of my favorite songs and I can't believe he actually remembered. After he was done, I got up and ran out before anyone could see.

I ran out to the far corner of the lake where no one could see me. Everyone knew he was singing that to me. And I felt like such a bitch at the moment. I had no idea what to do at this point, I really didn't.

"Alex," said Ryan running over to me.

"I'm sorry," I said quickly.

"It was just a song," he said.

"It wasn't just a song!" I cried. "I'm such a bitch. Why can't you just realize that and move on? Why do you have to love me?"

"You're perfect to me," he said. He took my hand and pulled me close to him. I put my hands on his shoulder and closed the space between us. He kissed my forehead and my eyes and then my nose. I started to cry and rested my head on his shoulder. He hugged me back and we stood there for a while just taking everything in.

"I love you, Alex," he said.

"I love you too," I said looking up at him. This was the first time I said it. He smiled and hugged me again. "No, kiss me idiot." I laughed and he quickly put his lips to mine doing something we've been dying to since we broke up.

"Can we have sex now?" he asked.

I laughed and pushed him off. "You're such a perv!" I ran away, running back to the bonfire. Ryan ran after me and picked me up. "Let me go!"

"Nope, I'm keeping you forever," he said, kissing me.
