The light changed to green and Bailey sped off leaving her life behind her. Her family and friends thought she was dead so what did it matter what she did now? All she had in the back of her car was clothes and money, everything else she'd get when she needed it. Destination unknown, she pulled on the highway and accelerated to the top speed passing by everything she knew.

'It's over' she thought, fighting back a dry sob. Bailey continued on her journey only stopping to fill up the gas tank. She had been driving for 3 days and made it to California; the sun was setting as she pulled into a parking lot by a club and changed out of her black sweats and into a short black dress. 'perfect' Bailey thought checking her reflection in mirrored windows. Flashing her New York license to the burly bouncer, she walked in and the scent hit her. Blood pulsing in the hot and sweaty dancers. Bailey inhaled the sweet scent and sighed.

"I'm so thirsty!" the red-head said aloud.

"Can I buy you a drink then?" a tall, handsome guy asked wrapping a thick muscular arm around her slender waist. Taking a waft of his succulent yet masculine scent, she nodded her head and he led her to the bar. "What would you like? Martini, Margarita, Cosmo?"

"How about a water and your name hot stuff." Bailey said with a flirty wink. He looked to the bartender and ordered a water for her and a Miller Lite for him.

"I'm Matt. You are?"

"Bailey." she said taking a swig of water watching him take a sip of his beer.

"Well Bailey, would you like to dance?" Matt questioned after finishing off his drink.

"A dance would be nice." she said leaping off the stool into the crowd, giggling as he chased her. The pair began dancing in perfect rhythm together until the club announced it's closing soon.

"Wow. Your quite the dancer." Matt said wiping his brow with exaggerated movements.

She smiled with intense pleasure, "Thanks. You too. No one can ever keep up with me, you must be special."

"Of course I am," he chuckled. "Do you wanna go back to my place?"

'this is a perfect opportunity, he smells so good he must taste even better. I'm so thirsty I'd take anything, but he is truly a catch.' she thought thinking her decision though. "You bet. Let's go!" Bailey said pulling him out the doors.

"Whoa, easy there girl." a bright smile lighting up his bronzed face. "Come on my car is over here." Matt said leading her to his cherry red mustang convertible. Before he could open the door she lept over the door settling in the creamy black leather. Matt whistled, "Dang babe! Your quite the eager one."

"Mmm just want to get out of here, see the town. I'm new here, from New York. So come on pretty boy, show me around town!" Bailey screamed as he put the peddle to the metal. "That's what I'm talking about!"

Matt could only laugh and look at the gorgeous girl by his side. Her hair was a deep reddish brown matching her snowy skin, her eyes a light green like cats eyes. Exotic, but beautiful. Confident, but intense.

"You like what you see?" she questioned the boy staring at her intently.

"Oh," Matt shook his sandy blond hair. "Yeah, maybe." he said ruffling her hair.

"Hey watch the hair buddy. It's a prized possession! So where do you live?" Bailey squealed.

"Be patient, but I have to tell you something. I hope you won't get mad at me." his face serious and worried.

"Ok shoot. I won't be mad."

"Well, I'm not exactly the correct age to get into that club and buy drinks. I'm not 21." he said slowly.

"I'm not either, but how old are you?" the girl pondered.

"I'm 18," he looked at her, "how old are you?"

"18. So I guess we're good." Bailey said smiling. "Do you live with your parents?"

"Um yes, but don't worry. They aren't home. They're out" Matt said turning onto a quaint little street.

"Aw this is such a cute house!" she exclaimed upon pulling into a driveway in front of a two-story, white rock house in the middle of nowhere.

"Come on. Let me show you around." Matt said getting Bailey out and walking to the door. "So this is it, our country home."

"I like it, it feels so homey, calm, cozy. Reminds me of my old home." her voice filling with sadness.

"If you ever want to talk about it, I'm here for you." Matt reached out and pulled her into a warm hug. Stroking her long hair he kissed the top of her head; then it hit him. "You! Your a-a- vampire!" he yelled, jumping back, shocked.
