Amanda isn't like you.

Amanda isn't like your mom, or your friends

Amanda isn't Normal.

Amanda Kasel walked down the chocolate brown stairs to her kitchen. The bright yellow walls and oak cabinets suddenly awakened her eyes.

"Good morning mom!" She called out through the empty kitchen, "Mom?" she called again, "Mom?!?" She must've already left for work, Amanda thought. She poured some cold milk into a white bowl, and reached for the Cornflakes. She ate in complete silence. Amanda didn't have a dad, she was adopted when she was about 8 months. Weird things had been happening to Amanda lately, but little did she know, weirder things were to come.

When Amanda got to school she met up with her best friend Nelly. Amandas hazel eyes and blonde hair didn't compare to Nellys deep brown eyes and dark brown hair. She was really beautiful. Amanda felt jealous every time she saw Nelly's face.

"Hi Amanda," Nelly greeted Amanda.

"Hey Nelly," Amanda replied. Amanda was feeling a bit out of it, she really hated Mondays.

"Did you ever finish your science project?" Nelly asked curiously.

"Yeah, but I'm not sure I did it right, I couldn't concentrate," Amanda replied with a huge yawn.

"You don't look so good," Nelly commented on Amanda's faded hair, droopy eyes, and odd slump.

"I know, I didn't get that much sleep last night, and my mom wasn't home this morning, so I had to work really fast, since she couldn't drive me here," Amanda responded.

"Well, I'm sure you'll feel better later," Nelly sighed hopefully.

"Yeah…maybe…later," Amanda let out a huge yawn, and walked to class.
