Well, moving on, this is the first poem in my Tribute to the Nameless Series. I'm trying to find time to write and post. Thanks.

Falling With Flashes and Flames

Remember the boy you used to see
The one who stood alone
The boy who no one cared about
Anonymous, unknown?

Remember in the hallways
He was jostled, bumped, and shoved
He was just another "nobody"
Unwanted and unloved?

Remember in the vacant lot
He took on five of you
Because you thought it would be fun
To beat him through and through?

Remember how you all just laughed
When he arrived at school
In bandages, a blackened eye
Because he was "uncool"?

Remember how he came to school
With all of his "supplies"
A line of rope, some gasoline
A lighter and a knife?

Remember how the restroom looked
With fire all around
He had a rope around his neck
His arms and legs were bound?

Remember on the restroom wall
Carved there for all to see
"I'm Going Down In Flames," it said
"And you'll remember me"?

Remember how you asked yourself
Why he was so depraved,
Yet failed to see that what you did
Could shape how he behaved?

Remember the boy who asked for some thought
Even faced Death so grim
How he went down in flashes and flames
So you'd remember him.

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. All I ask is that you think before you and your friends decide to "have some fun" with someone. You don't even have to review if you just do this one thing.

Inspired by the song "Going Down in Flames" by 3 Doors Down, though this is not my interpretation of the song.
