Some people are easy to love, some aren't. But whatever the case may be, there are always reasons person #1 loves person #2.

-- He loved her for enjoying the simple things

Liz chuckled at the sight. Julian was more asleep than awake, rubbing his eyes and his dark blond hair was standing at some abnormal angles. Add to that, he probably couldn't tell the difference between left and right at that moment.

"Morning, sunshine!"

"Morning." he sat on the stool near the counter of their ridiculously small kitchen "How can you be so happy so early?"

"I like mornings." Liz shrugged pouring some black coffee on a mug "A new day, another chance to change the world." she handed him the mug "How could I not love mornings?"

"I could answer that, but it could ruin your early bird happiness."

"How very nice of yours." Liz rolled her eyes playfully "So, what are the plans for today?"

"Weren't you going to take care of that?" Julian rubbed his eyes again. Maybe this time he could actually be considered someone awake.

"You have no plans for our anniversary?" Liz asked in mock ashtonment.

"I have a plan."

Liz waved for him to continue.

"Do whatever you'd like to."

"Even if I want to go ice-skating?" Liz asked.

"Yes." Julian nodded "Even if you want to go ice-skating." Which Julian hated because his balance was... well, nonexistent.

Liz grinned and went back to eating her breakfast. Ice-cream and cereal on her ladybug mug.

"What do you want to do?" Julian watched as she enjoyed her favorite kind of breakfast.

"I need to take some pictures, so we can have lunch at the park."

Julian nodded. "We'll have a picnic."

"Okay!" she smiled.

He loved the way her sky blue eyes sparkled whenever she smiled. Especially over small things that made her happy.

After all, who celebrates being roommates for a year?

-- He loved her for seeing the best in people

Liz heard the door being unlocked and lifted her eyes from the book.

"I know this look. And I don't like it." She put the book aside.

Julian sat down next to her on the couch and loosened his tie "Dey and Nick argued. Again."

"They'll be okay." she assured.

"You say twins, people think of that special bond. Nick couldn't read Audrey's mind even if she spelled it out for him."

Liz couldn't help chuckling.

"I hate when they fight." he rested his head on her shoulder.

"I know you do." Liz ran her fingers through his hair "But they'll get over it, you know that. Audrey and Nick are very strong-willed, so none of them is really willing to give in now. But give them sometime to cool off and things will be fine."

"If they keep fighting, they'll get to the no return point."

"Your brother and your sister won't get there." Liz stated.

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because they love each other." she answered simply "And if that's not enough, there's you and your parents. They wouldn't do a thing to hurt any of you."

Julian breathed a little easier. Liz had a point and he knew it.

-- He loved her for her persistence

He didn't know how it had happened, but in his sleep, Julian made the wrong turn on his bed and ended up on the floor. Shouldn't he know where the edge was?

As he got up and picked his covers, Julian noticed the living room light was still on.

"Liz?" Julian called out softly, already expecting no answer.

And he was right. Liz had fallen asleep on top of her books again. It always happened when test were close.

"You really should learn when to call the day." Julian said softly as he moved one of the books away from her.

That was one of the times he was grateful for Liz being a small girl. She almost never put on weight, thanks to the long walks everywhere.

He moved one arm under her knees and another behind her back and lifted her. Liz mumbled something as she buried her face on his neck.

"Good night, Liz." Julian whispered after placing her on her bed.

-- He loved her for her sincerity

"Julian, what are you doing tomorrow?" Liz watched as he placed two plates on the table.

"Saturday? Sleeping in." He took his seat, opposite to hers.

"Doctor asked for some blood tests. Would you mind coming with me?"

Julian looked up from his dinner.

"You know I'm afraid of needles."

"Yeah, but you normally ask Mikey."

Liz shrugged.

"Is your brother busy?"

"I don't know. I asked you before talking to him."

"Just that?"

Liz nodded. "Mikey and I are fine, don't worry about that."

"I'll come with you."

"Thanks." Liz smiled.
