A/N: yeah I know I only got one review. But I don't care. One person likes it and its good enough for me. Thank you for the review, Suzi. We may not be friends anymore, but I still feel like we are. We may have had our ups and downs, but don't all friends do? Anyway, thank you for the review. I miss you.
Chieko laid on a bed, a machine reading her heart. Her heartbeat was slow and steady. Hidan stared at her.
"Rina…," he said. "Tell me the truth. Is she going to be ok?"
Rina stood beside Rikku. Rina looked at Rikku, who nodded and smiled slightly.
"She'll be ok," Rina said. "I can't say she'll be fine, but she'll pull through."
Hidan stared at Chieko sadly, who was breathing in and out evenly.
"What's wrong with her?" he asked.
Rina sat down in a chair, Rikku putting her fingers on Chieko's wrist.
"We don't know exactly," Rina said. "It could be a number of things. Her body's weak is the top one. But I have a theory to go with that. Her body is a little overwhelmed with being both a demon and vampire. It might be trying to decide which one to be so it can develop into it fully. But I think she's resisting that, causing her pain."
Hidan looked at her, shocked.
"Why would she be doing that?" he asked.
Rina shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
"Could be she doesn't want to upset her parents by picking one over the other," Rina said. "If she picks demon, she might think she's choosing her mother over her father. And if she picks vampire, she might think she's choosing her father over her mother. Who knows with this one? She may be exactly like her mother. Trying to make everybody happy at once, even at the expense of her own happiness and body."
Hidan looked at Chieko. He took her small hand, running his fingers on the back of it.
"She's a little fool…," he whispered.
The door then opened. Rina and Rikku looked up to see Shinku walking in.
Rina stood up immediately.
"How's Kyuna?" she asked.
Shinku looked at her.
"She's looking better," he said. "She wanted to get up, but she was wincing. She tried to hide it from me, but, well, she sucks at it. I made her stay in bed and promised her I'd tell her how Chieko is."
Shinku walked to the other side of the bed, next to Rikku.
"How is she?" Shinku asked.
"Much better," Rikku said. "She'll be fine in no time."
Shinku stared at Hidan, who was looking at Chieko worriedly.
"Hidan, you should go get some sleep," Shinku said. "I'll watch her."
Hidan shook his head without looking up.
"I'm fine…," he said.
"I can see the bags under your eyes," Shinku stated, smiling
Hidan still did not look up.
"I don't care…," he said. "I'm not leaving…"
Shinku stared at him still.
"Hidan…," Shinku said.
Hidan still did not look up. He ran his fingers continuously on the back of Chieko's hand.
"Do you love my daughter?" Shinku asked.
Hidan's eyes widened and he looked up at Shinku. His eyes then fell as he looked back at Chieko.
"Yes…," Hidan whispered.
Shinku stared at him.
"Even though she's technically only almost four months old?" Shinku asked.
"I'll wait if you want me to…," Hidan whispered again.
Shinku looked at Chieko, seeing her breathing evenly.
"It's not really my choice," Shinku said. "It's mostly up to her. I'm a father so honestly I would rather you wait, but I can't keep her from you if that's what she wants. I couldn't keep my children away from someone they love. I wouldn't want Kyuna taken from me…"
Shinku looked at Rikku.
"Has Rikka come back yet?" he asked.
Rikku shook her head.
"She's still with him," Rikku said. "Chasing him or with him, I don't know."
Shinku looked to the ground and growled.
"He better not show his face here," Shinku said. "If he still wants to live."
"Now, Shinku," Rina said. "You and I both know you won't kill him. Kyuna asked you not to. And you and I know you don't want to make her unhappy by killing him."
Shinku looked at Rina.
"But I don't understand why she doesn't want him to die," he said. "He raped her!"
Rina shrugged her shoulders. Rikku smiled slightly at the ground.
"When Kyuna was little she was always too forgiving," she said. "She'd hear of murderers and forgive them. When I asked why, she said, 'If I don't, no one will.' She was four years old. I say she's too kind for her own good."
Shinku shook lightly.
"You got that right…," he said.
He then sat down in a chair, putting his hand over his face.
They then heard a groan and Hidan's head shot up. Chieko's eyes were opening slowly. She got them to open half way as she looked around the room.
"Where…where'd the snow go?" she asked, her voice slightly hoarse.
Hidan smiled. He immediately got up, hugging her tightly.
"Dan Dan?" he heard Chieko say. "Where's the snow?"
He smiled slightly at her.
"It's outside, Chieko," he said. "You're inside now."
Chieko laid her head against the pillow.
"Ok…just wondering…," she said tiredly.
Hidan smiled and kissed her head. Shinku saw Chieko smile at Hidan.
"Dan Dan…guess what…," she said.
Hidan smiled at her.
"What is it, Chieko?" he asked.
Chieko smiled softly.
"Chieko loves you," Chieko said.
Hidan blinked and then smiled.
"Dan Dan loves you too, Chieko," he said.
Chieko smiled, closing her eyes.
"Chieko knows," she whispered.
Rikku laughed softly.
"So she is a psychic!" she laughed.
Rina laughed as well.
"You don't have to be a psychic to see that!" she said.
Shinku laughed with her.
"Daddy?" Chieko asked, opening her eyes again.
Shinku stopped and looked at her.
"Yes, Aijou-chan?" he asked, standing next to her in an instant.
Chieko didn't answer. Shinku blinked and looking at her. Hidan noticed and stared at her. Her eyes were in a daze, the blue of her eyes covering her pupil.
"That's the same look she had that day!" Hidan said. "The day Hitogoroshi came!"
Is she seeing something?: Shinku thought.
The pupils in Chieko's eyes returned. She grabbed Shinku's shirt and looked at him sadly.
"Onee-chan…Onee-chan, Daddy," she said, tears forming in her eyes.
Shinku's eyes widened. He knelt down so he was eye leveled with her.
"What's wrong, Chieko?" Shinku asked. "What's wrong with Irihi?"
Chieko sniffled, tears falling.
"Chieko…," Hidan said, cupping her face.
Chieko then looked at Hidan and touched his hand. Her eyes then became dazed, the dark blue covering her pupils once again. Hidan's eyes widened as his pupils turned dark blue.
"Hidan?" Shinku asked. "Chieko?"
Chieko then let go of Hidan's hand, closing her eyes slowly. She began to breathe evenly as the last tear fell from her eye.
Hidan gasped as his pupils returned. He panted lightly.
"Hidan, what the hell…?" Shinku asked.
"I…I don't know…," he said. "When she touched my hand…I saw…I saw Irihi. She was walking with Yonige by the lake….She then grabbed her head and started to scream. Yonige asked her what was wrong and she screamed, 'My back! My back! It hurts!'. I don't know what I saw, but something was ripping the back of her jacket off."
Rikku's eyes widened. Rina noticed and eyed her sister. Rikku then bolted out the door, running towards the outside door.
"Rikku!" Rina yelled, running after her.
Shinku looked at Hidan, who was staring at Chieko.
"Watch her," he said. "I'm going to find Irihi."
He then ran out the door as well, following his mother and aunt.

Shinku was running beside Rina. They were both following Rikku, who was far ahead of them.
"What's up with her?" he asked.
Rina looked at Rikku.
"I don't know," she said.
Rikku ran through the forest and took a turn, running in the direction of the lake.
"Why is she running to Moonlight's Lake?" he asked.
Rina shrugged her shoulders, turning where Rikku did.
They then saw the lake, unfrozen now in the freezing cold weather. Shinku looked and saw Rikku standing next to Yonige, who was on the ground holding a body.
"Irihi!" Shinku yelled as he ran faster.
He saw Irihi's chest rising and falling rapidly. She was panting harshly. He saw something behind her. He ran faster. His eyes then widened when he saw what was behind her.
"Are…Are those wings?" Rina asked.

"What is she?" Shinku asked.
They were now in the living room of the castle, Yonige sitting with a shivering Irihi in his lap in front of a large fire.
"In terms to speak, angel of life," Rikku said. "The old angel must've died near the lake. When the angel dies, wherever it is it finds a new, younger body. The angel is usually female but has been male occasionally. I've seen it a couple times in my life."
"Wait, wait," Shinku said. "Are you saying my daughter, my demon daughter Irihi, is some kind of angel? Does Heaven exist?"
Rikku sat down in a large cushioned chair.
"It very much exists," she said. "Well, not for us vampires and demons, but it exists. In technicality she could be called an angel, but more or less the Judge."
Shinku looked at Rikku confused.
"What do you mean the Judge?" he asked. "I thought the so called Kami was the Judge."
Rikku smiled.
"There is a Kami, Shinku," Rikku said. "Just to let you know. But there are also gods and goddesses, but that's another story. I think you misunderstand."
"Then explain," Shinku said.
Rikku leaned back, closing her eyes.
"It's not the angel's job to judge whether you go to Heaven or Hell," Rikku said. "She judges if it was your time."
Shinku stared at her, not understanding.
"What do you mean by 'your time'?" he asked.
"The angel," Rikku said. "Judges on whether it was your time to die or not. If you were not supposed to die, she takes your soul and puts it back in its original body. Say if you died in battle but you were supposed to die of lung cancer. Irihi would take your soul and put it back in your body. Understand?"
Shinku nodded.
"But why Irihi?" he asked. "Was she chosen for this or what?"
Rikku opened her eyes and smiled.
"She wasn't," Rikku said. "She just happened to be where the old angel died."
